Dream – Lasse Stolley, a teenager from Germany, chooses to live and work inside moving train carriages. His viral story has inspired many people around the world. The 17-year-old man may be fulfilling the dream of locomotive enthusiast Francis Bourgeois, as he literally and legally resides in various Deutsche Bahn trains in Germany.

Stolley, who claims to be a digital nomad, explained that although privacy is very minimal in his unusual place of residence, he greatly enjoys the freedom and flexibility it provides to him.

"Hundreds of Millions"

However, he had to spend hundreds of millions of money to live on a moving train. "The German railway line is his oyster," he said, quoted from Mirror.

Interestingly, Stolley has now traveled more than 483 thousand kilometers since leaving his parents' home in Fockbek, Schleswig-Holstein, at the age of 16.

Stolley explained that his decision to live in a train carriage came after his career plan as an IT specialist was canceled at the last minute. Then he got the idea to live in a train after watching a YouTube video. Initially, Stolley's parents were very worried about the idea, but with a lot of convincing efforts, they finally agreed to help him clarify its legality.

"I have to convince them that this is not something reckless," said Stolley. Despite his unconventional lifestyle, Stolley revealed that his living expenses amount to around Rp170 million per year. However, he hopes that his experience will open doors for job opportunities in the transportation industry."

"My desire is to provide feedback to transportation companies and get compensation for it," he said. Currently, Stolley works as a programmer during the day and enjoys his leisure time in the first-class carriage at night. He brings four shirts, two pairs of pants, toiletries, a neck pillow, and a travel blanket inside."

He said that the most important items he owns are his laptop and noise-cancelling headphones that help him 'escape' from the train.

"I have to shower in a public swimming pool and recreation center, while living a very minimalist lifestyle because all of my belongings have to fit in my 36-liter backpack," he explained. Stolley's story is a true example of courage and determination in pursuing dreams. With his adventurous spirit, he has proven that there are no limits for someone to chase what they want, even if it means living in a train car all the time. "My home is a train," said Stolley.
