Dream - Wedding gifts come in various forms. Some are in the form of goods or objects, while others give gifts in the form of money. Giving money as a gift to the marrying couple has indeed become a common practice among wedding guests.
Usually this money gift is given by inserting it into an envelope and handed over through a provided box. There are also those who directly hand over the wedding angpao in the envelope to the bridal couple while shaking hands.
However, it is different from the tradition of giving wedding angpao in Buluk Agung village, Klampis sub-district, Bangkalan, Madura, this.
Viral on social media, a video of a couple appearing with a necklace that is different from usual. Instead of being made of gold or silver, the bride and groom wore a necklace made of sheets of money.
"Wedding gift in the form of a money necklace"
Wedding makeup artist and TikToker Matus shared the peculiar act of wedding guests giving a creative wedding gift. In the video uploaded by @aimatuzz_wedding, the guests wore necklaces made of money. The wedding gift in the form of a money necklace was made from Rp50,000 and Rp100,000 banknotes.
Alternately, two mothers who were guests at the wedding ceremony hung blue and red money garlands on the neck of the bridal couple. The money necklace was seen stacked up and filled the neck of the bridal couple in Madura.
"Auto Cari Jodoh Cowok Madura" translates to "Automatically Find a Mate Madura Guy" in English.

Meanwhile, Matus said that giving money necklaces to the bride and groom is a common occurrence in Madura. Unfortunately, Matus admitted that he did not know the amount of money that was given by the two wedding guests.
Regarding the tradition of giving money necklaces, Matus said he didn't know its name. However, if someone has received a money necklace before, they must "return" it when neighbors or family hold a celebration.
