Dream - Providing halal sustenance to the family is a good teaching in Islam to its followers. Whereby, a husband who has the responsibility to seek sustenance, must seek livelihood in a halal manner and the results are also halal. Through this halal sustenance, it is able to bring blessings and rewards from Allah SWT. Whereas haram sustenance, it will bring negative impact to the giver and the recipient. Allah SWT has commanded His followers to seek halal sustenance through Surah Al-Baqarah verse 168 as follows:
"Hello humans, eat a portion (of food) on earth that is halal and good, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is a clear enemy to you."
Well, here is an explanation about the law of providing sustenance with forbidden money to the family and its dangers as summarized by Dream through various sources.
Using haram money for any purpose is prohibited and can bring sin. This includes if the haram money is used to support the family.
As the word of Allah SWT in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 188 states: "And do not consume one another's wealth unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the rulers in order that [they might aid] you [to] consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know [it is unlawful]." As a Muslim, it is therefore necessary to strive to seek sustenance in a lawful manner to provide for one's family.
Avoid the use of illicit money because it can have a significant impact on oneself and the family being supported. When someone has used illicit money to support their family, it is best for them to repent to Allah SWT immediately and seek lawful sustenance.
It cannot be denied that searching for money is not an easy thing. However, behind the hard work in a halal way, there are blessings given by Allah SWT. Meanwhile, haram money for the family will bring dangers as follows:
"Allah SWT has commanded His people to seek halal sustenance. When this is not followed and one chooses to do it in a haram way, it will incur the wrath of Allah SWT. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has also given a stern warning to his nephew, Ali bin Abi Talib:"
"O Ali, if Allah is angry with someone, then Allah will provide them with forbidden sustenance. And when Allah becomes even angrier with a servant, Allah will delegate (grant power) to Satan to increase their sustenance and accompany them, keeping them busy with the world and causing them to forget their religion. Making their worldly affairs easier, and Satan says (tempting with words): Allah is the Most Forgiving and the Most Merciful."
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "Money that is forbidden will eliminate blessings in religion. The Prophet Muhammad said, a person who obtains wealth through means prohibited by Allah SWT, then their heart will die and become blind in carrying out obedience to Allah SWT. "O Ali, a believer's faith will always strengthen as long as they do not consume what is forbidden. And whoever leaves (avoids) the scholars, then their heart will die and become blind in carrying out obedience to Allah."
Reading the Quran by someone who consumes forbidden wealth will not have any impact whatsoever. In this case, it includes those who throw the book of Allah SWT behind their backs. In this case, Allah SWT does not accept the worship of someone whose livelihood comes from forbidden sustenance. Whether it is worship for oneself or for loved ones.
"Halalize what is halalized in the Quran and do not make haram what is forbidden in the Quran, then that person is among those who throw the book of Allah (Quran) behind their backs.\u201d"
"Everything that we do in this world will be accounted for in the afterlife. Therefore, Dream's friends must be careful in their actions while still alive. One of them is when seeking sustenance. So, seek sustenance in a lawful manner and avoid forbidden wealth, such as the proceeds of corruption."
As Allah SWT said in Surah An-Nisa verse 29: "O you who believe, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly, unless it is through trade conducted with mutual consent."
The human nature that can mislead itself is greed. When one becomes greedy, they will lose sight and resort to various means to achieve what they desire, including obtaining wealth through improper ways. The Prophet Muhammad also advised Ali bin Abi Thalib to be cautious of unlawful income. It can cause one to become forgetful, reckless, greedy, and disturb the peace of their heart.
"O Ali, whoever consumes doubtful food, their faith will become doubtful and their heart will darken (meaning that a person who consumes doubtful food will not be able to accept religious advice, thus their heart will become dark). And whoever consumes forbidden food, their heart will die, their faith will become light (neglecting religion), their conviction will weaken, their prayers will be hindered, and their worship will be minimal."
