Dream - Dream friends may have felt very longing for their grandparents, parents, or other relatives who have passed away. When they were still alive, you could meet them directly and give gifts in person. But, when they have passed away, you can only visit their grave. However, if you are in a distant place, of course, you cannot visit their grave every time. So, what can be done? In Islam, it teaches not only to pray for oneself or for the living. You can also pray for those who have passed away, especially for ancestors.
"Nah, the prayer that you offer can become a gift for them. This is explained in the book Matan Aqidah Thahawiyyah by Imam Ath-Thahawi: 'In the prayers and charity of the living, it can benefit those who have passed away.'"
The following are practices that can be given to ancestors or deceased people as summarized by Dream through various sources.
"In Islam, it is taught that when someone dies, their deeds will be terminated. However, there are several deeds that will not be terminated upon death as follows: "
The following is the translation of the 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "Jariyah charity is a charity that will not be interrupted in its rewards, even after death. For example, endowing a mosque or school with teaching and learning activities inside. As long as the benefits of the endowment continue to run, its rewards will also continue to flow."
The second practice that will not be interrupted until death is knowledge. For example, if friend Dream teaches a beneficial knowledge to students, then the rewards will flow. Or it can also be when friend Dream writes a book.
The third practice that will not be interrupted until death is having a pious child who always prays. When someone has a child, and that child always prays for their parents even after they have passed away, then the prayer will reach their parents.
The following are some practices that can be given to people who have passed away, as well as being a gift for them.
The first practice is in the form of prayer and seeking forgiveness. The Prophet Muhammad advised his followers that when burying their deceased brother, they should stand by the grave. At that moment, you should ask for forgiveness for your brother and pray for Allah's strength so that the deceased can answer the questions in the grave. "Ask for forgiveness for your brother, ask Allah to strengthen him, because at this moment he is being questioned." (Narrated by Abu Daud and Al Hakim)
The next practice is charity. As it is narrated that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad and informed him that his mother had passed away. "If I were to give charity, would it be considered as charity on her behalf?" The Prophet Muhammad answered, "Yes." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
Hajj and umrah not only bring rewards for oneself, but also for others. Even for those who have passed away. Rasulullah saw said: "Perform hajj for yourself, then perform hajj for Syubrumah." (HR. Abu Daud, Ibnu Majah, and Ibnu Khuzaimah)
Then, a woman came to the Prophet Muhammad. She asked about performing the Hajj on behalf of her mother: "I just found out that my mother has fulfilled the obligatory requirements for Hajj, but she has not performed it yet. Can I perform the Hajj on behalf of my mother?" The Prophet answered, "Yes, perform the Hajj for your mother." (HR. Bukhari)
However, after further investigation, the police found inconsistencies in her statement.
