Dream - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) suddenly became a photographer at the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) event in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Monday, May 20, 2024. The moment happened when Jokowi invited the heads of state and WWF delegates to visit the I Gustri Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park (Tahura) in Denpasar.
That's when one of the special delegates from France, Barbara Pompili, wanted to take a photo with the background scenery around the location. In a video uploaded on TikTok @beritanasionalmaju, it can be seen that Barbara asked Jokowi for help to take her picture at one of the spots in tahura.
Jokowi then took the red cellphone from Barbara's hand, then took a picture while slightly crouching.
Different Angle
Not enough once, Barbara then asked Jokowi for help taking her picture from a different angle. Both of them smiled. Several world leaders and delegates also smiled watching Jokowi and Barbara's actions.
In the event, Jokowi hopes that WWF 2024 can become a momentum for various countries to revitalize real actions and commitments with various knowledge, encourage innovative solutions, and realize integrated water resource management (SDA). "This is to reaffirm commitments and formulate real actions related to inclusive and sustainable water management," said Jokowi.
According to Jokowi, water plays an important role in the lives of human beings. In fact, water is referred to as the next oil in the future. He also believes that water scarcity can slow down economic growth by up to 6 percent by 2050. "In the past 10 years, Indonesia has strengthened its water infrastructure by building 42 dams and a network of irrigation covering 1.18 million hectares. It has also rehabilitated a total of 4.3 million hectares of irrigation networks and constructed 2,156 km of flood control and coastal protection," he said.
