Dream - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo emphasized that youth development is our oath and responsibility. He conveyed this message on the 95th anniversary of Youth Pledge Day (HSP) at the National Monument (Monas) on Saturday, October 28, 2023. "It is our historical duty to create a better future for the next generation. Therefore, let us together optimize the demographic bonus to make Indonesia Golden in 2045. I believe that with mutual cooperation and helping each other, we can Advance Indonesia with sports, creativity, and innovation," said Dito.

In the 95th HSP, the purpose of youth development in improving the quality of youth competitiveness and national character as the nation's identity is conveyed. "This is an important part of our struggle to advance our country, and I want to emphasize some key points in this regard," he said. The five points emphasized by Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito, are as follows: First, the main goal of youth development is to improve the quality of youth competitiveness and strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation and help as part of our national identity.

Secondly, to achieve this goal, the importance of youth development in a measurable way through the Youth Development Index (YDI) cannot be ignored. Therefore, National Development must encompass five main domains of the YDI, namely education, health, employment, leadership participation, as well as addressing gender and discrimination issues.

Through a comprehensive National Youth Development Plan (IPP), we can see the extent of our youth's progress, as well as where improvements and enhancements are needed. Thirdly, to achieve all of this, we need to design a comprehensive and strategic framework. This is known as the National Youth Design (DBKN).

DBKN will serve as a foundation for directing youth development towards a more progressive, impactful, and relevant direction in accordance with the spirit of the times. Innovation-based implementation becomes the key to the success of DBKN. Fourth, we need to emphasize the importance of cooperation from all parties, both at the central and regional levels. This must be done through strategic coordination among Ministries and Institutions (K/L) in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 43 of 2022.

We start the collaboration with exemplarity, and exemplarity must start from inclusive, creative, innovative, and responsive bureaucracy performance. Bold actions and concrete steps to encourage the increase of participation as well as representation of the younger generation in national priority programs also need to be brought to life until regional development.

This noble task requires integrated actions with various relevant parties both domestically and internationally. Fifth, in implementing such strategic coordination, we must involve the National Action Plan (RAN) for all Ministries/Agencies as well as the Regional Action Plan (RAD) for local governments.

In this process, it is also important to involve non-governmental institutions and the private sector. This is our joint effort to advance our youth and nation. "I will monitor the bureaucratic processes in the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure that they run well in embracing the five elements of youth development, such as the government, media, community, academia, and business," said Minister of Youth and Sports Dito.
