Organized in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association (HKCDBA), the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races will take place on June 15 and 16, 2024.
In the event, you and your family can witness an exciting race with more than 170 teams and 4,000 dragon boat athletes gathering in Hong Kong along Victoria Harbour to compete for the championship title. In addition to the action-packed competition, local residents and visitors are invited to explore the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui and capture unforgettable moments at the available photo spots during a limited period, featuring the latest LINE FRIENDS installation starting in June and followed by the 100% DORAEMON & FRIENDS Tour in July.
LINE FRIENDS, famous worldwide, will present 'LINE FRIENDS Hong Kong Summer Chill' with various photo spots along the Avenue of Stars from June 8th to July 1st, 2024.
The classic characters BROWN, CONY, and SALLY will appear as dragon boat athletes with a summer travel theme to liven up the celebration. You can also visit the limited-time pop-up store to get special Hong Kong souvenirs designed specifically for the dragon boat gala and produced through collaboration with local brands. For the first time this year, there will be food and beverage stalls available at the 'Summer Chill Food Lane' on the Avenue of Stars from 8 to 16 June, offering refreshing drinks for tourists in the summer.
Don't forget to taste various creative drinks and snacks, such as homemade beer, packaged milk tea, cold brewed coffee, coconut dessert, and donuts while cheering on the dragon boat racers.
After a 12-year hiatus since the exhibition '100 Years Before the Birth of Doraemon' in 2012, the creative brand AllRightsReserved (ARR) and Fujiko Pro are once again collaborating to present the '100% DORAEMON & FRIENDS' Tour in Hong Kong, which will take place from July 13 to August 11, 2024, at the famous landmarks Avenue of Stars and Tsim Sha Tsui Harbourfront.
With free admission zone and ticketed exhibition area, this exhibition showcases the world of Doraemon comprehensively, ranging from manga art to films.
"Some prominent Doraemon figures will also appear unexpectedly throughout Hong Kong, showcasing a special collection of 135 life-size figures, most of which have never been exhibited before. Here, you can watch an original short animated film designed specifically for Hong Kong and the secret gadget that appears for the first time in this event, namely '100% Friends-Calling Bell'."
To enter the magnificent '100% Doraemon Outdoor Exhibited Area', you will not be charged, it's free. Here, there is a giant Doraemon rubber balloon installation that stands 12 meters tall in the world. Accompanied by 34 life-size Doraemon figures from the manga and anime series, as well as 10 friends and family of Doraemon, they will join together in this journey.
These figures and the accompanying colossal comic panels create an amazing spectacle against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour. The seven friends of Doraemon, including Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, Suneo, Jaiko, Dorami, and Dekisugi, as well as other iconic characters from Fujiko F Fujio's works, such as Esper Mami, Perman No. 1-3, and Korosuke, will unexpectedly appear on the Avenue of Stars.

Accompanied by Doraemon figures, they will be displayed as comic-style standees, on a magnificent 100-meter-long Blue Carpet that illuminates the view of Victoria Harbour.

If I have the opportunity, I also want to visit this exhibition in person," said actor and songwriter Jay Chou in a written statement on Monday, June 10, 2024. As a long-time fan of Doraemon, Fala Chen said that Doraemon has been her favorite cartoon character since childhood, and this manga series has become an inseparable part of her childhood."
