The event that prioritizes mooncakes as the main thing, the snack is considered by the Chinese community as a symbol of gratitude for the abundant harvest and a request for a good season.

According to tradition, the Mooncake Festival is an ancient Chinese community event that takes place every 15th day of the 8th lunar month based on the Chinese lunar calendar calculation, but in the Gregorian calendar, this festival falls from the end of August to mid-September.

Made from wheat flour, rice flour, or steamed potatoes, this mooncake has various flavors such as sweet, salty, and spicy. Inside, there is a filling of mixed paste with various flavors such as salted egg yolk, red bean, green, and others.

Usually, the Mooncake Festival is held in famous Chinatown corners in Jakarta. In this year, the Mooncake Festival organized by PINTI (Indonesian Chinese Women's Association) will be held from September 29th to October 1st, 2023 at Old Shanghai Sedayu City, Kelapa Gading, Cakung, East Jakarta.

At the Mooncake Festival 2023, you can enjoy it with your family and friends because there will be a series of performances such as lion dance, Mandarin singing competition, decorative lanterns, traditional dances, and Mandarin artist performances.
