Dream - Tourists in Copenhagen, Denmark, have the opportunity to enjoy free meals and cultural tours just by diligently collecting trash and cycling. This opportunity comes after the implementation of The CopenPay project, which runs from July 15 to August 11, 2024.

The tourism authority of the capital city of Denmark, Visit Copenhagen, in its explanation states that this program practice uses the approach of 'transforming environmentally friendly actions into a means of exchange for cultural experiences.'

Visitors who bring plastic waste to the National Gallery of Denmark will have access to a workshop where they can transform it into a work of art. Those who bike or take public transportation to the factory will also be allowed to ski down the artificial slope on the roof of the building.

"CopenPay appreciates actions such as cycling, participating in cleaning efforts, or volunteering in urban farming with access to various enriching and wonderful experiences in Copenhagen. This includes free guided museum tours, free kayak rentals, and even free vegetarian lunches made from local plants."

write the statement Wonderful Copenhagen, quoted from First Post.

The capital of Denmark is popular among tourists because of its beautiful architecture, world-class food, as well as a safe, clean, and green environment.

"Public Transportation Ticket"

The city is friendly to cyclists with a 382-kilometer long route. According to the tourism board, 62 percent of the population travels by bicycle. Prizes can also be given if visitors show their public transportation tickets.

"With CopenPay, we empower the community to experience more of what Copenhagen has to offer while reducing the burden on our planet," said Mikkel Aarø Hansen, CEO of Wonderful Copenhagen. In the available online map, more than 20 participating places are shown. This pilot project can be implemented throughout the year if proven successful."

This program is launched amidst growing concerns about the impact of mass tourism on the environment and society, which has sparked protests in Barcelona, the Canary Islands, and Mallorca recently.

"We must transform tourism from being merely an environmental burden into a force for positive change, and one important step in this transformation is to change the way we move in a destination, what we consume, and how we interact with the local population."
word Hansen.
