Dream - Muslim-friendly tourist destinations have been a concern for several countries in recent years. This is not only happening in Indonesia, but also in Uzbekistan. In recent years, the local government has made various efforts to make their tourist attractions more accommodating for Muslim travelers.

Until now, a total of 14 thousand tourists have visited Uzbekistan. The Uzbekistan government hopes that the number of foreign tourists can reach 30 thousand by 2030. The government's efforts are not only to build infrastructure but also to increase the number of job opportunities and, of course, places of worship as well as halal restaurants and food.

Regardless of Uzbekistan's ranking, there are several other countries considered friendly for Muslim travelers in the period of 2023. Indonesia ranks first, followed by Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, and Qatar. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's ranking is sandwiched between Oman and Brunei at 13th and 15th place, respectively.

Until now, this country with a rich Islamic history has set a target to achieve 7 million tourists by the end of this year. Especially, the arrival of Muslim travelers to explore various destinations with historical value in Islam. "Now, tourists receive tax benefits when visiting Uzbekistan. Transportation, accommodation, and places of worship have developed for all religions, and we hold regular meetings for the Ziyarah Forum Week," said Dr Zarina Abdullayeva, Head of Department Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Tourism Committee.
