"Dream - U.S. News and World Report recently released rankings of the best countries in the world based on quality of life. According to CNBC International, U.S. News and World Report, WPP, and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania have surveyed over 17,000 people worldwide."
There are 87 registered countries. The best countries for quality of life are assessed based on the following metrics: Affordable, Good Job Market, Economically Stable, Family-friendly, Income Equality, Politically Stable, Safe, Well-developed Public Health System, Well-developed Public Education System.
"Sweden"
Sweden occupies the top position. According to Numbeo, the cost of living in Sweden is on average 20.9 percent lower than in the United States, while the cost of renting a house is 57.5 percent lower.
U.S. News and World Report reported that Sweden is famous for its healthcare services and free higher education. The CIA World Factbook also noted that the population of Sweden has one of the longest life expectancies, with an average age of 82.8 years.
Not only that, this country has an extraordinary parental leave policy. Like parents are entitled to 480 days of paid leave when a child is born or adopted. If there are two parents, each is entitled to 240 days.
"Norway"
The second position is occupied by Norway. According to the CIA World Factbook, this country is a trendsetter for gender equality. Parental leave in this country allows parents to divide their time caring for their children at home for up to 49 weeks with full pay (or 59 weeks with 80 percent of their salary).
"Norway also offers monthly allowances for families from one month after the child is born until they reach 18 years old to partially cover the costs of raising a child."
The life expectancy in Norway at birth is 82.75 years, and since 2013, Norway has been ranked among the top 10 happiest countries in the world according to the World Happiness Report.
Kanada
Canada is in the top three positions. This country is known for its affordability, access to education, and healthcare system. This country has a life expectancy of 83.99 years, 3.24 years higher than its neighboring country, the United States.
Canada outperforms the average in terms of income, employment, education, health, environmental quality, social relationships, and life satisfaction, according to the Better Life Index from the OECD. The country has universal healthcare coverage. Additionally, Canada also provides its citizens with a healthcare system primarily funded through taxes and free during childbirth. According to Columbia University, there is no cost-sharing for hospitalization or outpatient care, and prescription drug prices vary but are still affordable.
