Dream - The community can no longer hope to receive free electric rice cookers from the government. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has stated that the program to distribute Electric Cooking Appliances (AML) has failed to reach its target of 500 thousand units.
"The Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman P Hutajulu, announced that the government's free rice cooker program has only been realized in 342,621 units, or approximately 68.5 percent of the target."
To implement the program, the government has actually allocated a total budget of Rp 347.5 billion from the Ministry of Finance. The budget for the 500 thousand free rice cookers comes from the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the year 2023. With the achievement that does not meet the target, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will return the remaining budget to the state.

Jisman conveyed, this free rice cooker program failed to reach its target due to the tight implementation time. However, the government also cannot simply provide the free electric cooking stove, in order to maintain good corporate governance (GCG).
"Because the time was also limited yesterday, we also need GCG, we must not be careless with the data. So that's the firm, which can be verified in the field, and already exists administratively supported so that we can provide," he said.
Jisman still cannot say whether the program in question will continue in the future. It is not impossible that the free rice cooker program will be replaced with an electric stove distribution program.
"We'll see later. That was a different year, the Ministry of Finance has changed. If there is a proposal later for the Ministry of Finance to push for electric stoves, it's also possible," he concluded."
