Dream - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting Davos 2024 held in Davos, Switzerland. Prior to attending the forum, Sri Mulyani met with CEO of YouTube, Neal Mohan. They discussed the emerging creators economy from the platform that has been established since 2005.
Encounter with YouTube CEO
"In the midst of the cold atmosphere in Davos, we had a warm conversation about the Creators Economy, which is created and driven by content creators on this platform," wrote Sri Mulyani in an Instagram post @smindrawati.
According to him, the popularity of the American video-sharing site has created so many new job opportunities. "Not only for content creators, but also for those who support them," he said. The former Executive Director of the World Bank also highlighted the positive initiative from YouTube in establishing the Creator Academy. A program for new creators to better understand how to become good content creators.
"I also support this, seeing how YouTubers have become a profession and an aspiration for the young generation of Indonesia," he said.
Sri Mulyani also acknowledged that YouTube has become an integral video sharing service in people's lives. Including for the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) to transparently inform about the current state of the state budget (APBN).

Besides YouTube CEO, Neal Mohan, Sri Mulyani also met with the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Al-Jadaan.
With pride, the woman often called Ani informs that Indonesia has officially become the third largest shareholder of the Islamic Development Bank. "Indonesia is happy to support the reform of Multilateral Development Banks, including the Islamic Development Bank," said Sri Mulyani.
"As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, according to Sri Mulyani, Indonesia wants to actively participate in building and supporting IsDB reforms. In order to effectively support development and eradicate poverty in Islamic countries with Muslim populations."
"I am optimistic that many young professionals from Indonesia can participate in building IsDB to be even better in the future," he said.
