Dream - The presidential candidates (Capres) in the 2024 election contest have conveyed their ideas to eradicate corruption in the Homeland. They presented their ideas at the Strengthening Anti-Corruption event or PAKU Integritas held by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Then what are the ideas of the Presidential Candidates about eradicating corruption?
Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, supports the enactment of the Asset Seizure Law to deter corruptors. "We see the need to finalize the asset seizure law or bill," said Anies quoted from Liputan6.com, Thursday, June 18, 2023. According to Anies, making corruptors poor is one of the efforts to effectively eradicate corruption.
"Corruptors must be impoverished. There is no other choice. This is the punishment that must be given," he said.
Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, supports the strengthening of the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN). According to Prabowo, officials who do not comply with reporting LHKPN must be sanctioned. "I strongly support the enforcement of LHKPN and the imposition of sanctions when LHKPN is not honest," said Prabowo.
Prabowo said, every state official must transparently report all of their wealth. "All wealth must be reported," he expressed.
Presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, mentioned whistleblowing system as one of the important instruments to boost compliance with LHKPN and corruption eradication. Ganjar said there are two important points for the whistleblowing system to work optimally. First, the report must be truly anonymous and include evidence based on facts.
"The good prevention and strengthening of LHKPN is driven by strengthening whistleblowing (reporting criminal offenses) from the community, which is guaranteed confidentiality," said Ganjar. According to Ganjar, whistleblowing with preserved anonymity will make the public not hesitate to report deviations, wealth that does not match the profile, and other indications of corruption."
