- A series of hajj rituals performed in the Holy Land of Mecca is almost complete. The feeling of happiness and gratitude is certainly felt by the pilgrims. The biggest hope from the pilgrimage journey is to become a blessed hajj. After completing all the hajj rituals, the pilgrims will return to their homeland according to the assigned group. They will soon reunite with their families and relatives in their hometown. However, there are several recommended practices that should be done by the pilgrims when returning from hajj.

The first sunnah when returning from Hajj is to recite a prayer as done by the Prophet Muhammad. This is done when returning from battle, Hajj, or Umrah. He recites the takbir three times when passing through a hill and says: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وٞحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ المُلْكُ، وٞلَهُ الحَمْدُ وٞهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ، آيِبُوْنَ تَائِبُوْنَ، عَابِدُوْنَ، سَاجِدُوْنَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُوْنَ، صَدَقَ اللهُ وٞعْدَهُ، وٞنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ، وٞهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وٞحَدَهُ

"Lâ ilâha illallâhu wahdahu lâ syarîka lahû, lahul mulku, wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa 'alâ kulli syai'in qadîr, âyibûna, tâ'ibûna, 'âbidûna, sâjidûna li rabbinâ hâmidûn, shadaqallâhu wa'dahu, wa nashara 'abdahu, wa hazamal ahzâba wahdahu. Artinya: "There is no god but Allah, there is no partner for Him. All power and praise belong to Him, and He is Almighty over everything. We return, repent, worship, prostrate, and praise our Lord. Allah has fulfilled His promise, He has supported His servant, and He has defeated the alliance of disbelievers alone.""

When the pilgrims have arrived at the border of their hometown, it is recommended to recite the following prayer: Bismillâh allâhumma innî as-aluka khaira hâdzihi-s-sûqi wa khaira mâ fîhâ wa a'ûdzubika min syarrihâ wa syarri mâ fîhâ. Allâhumma innî a'ûdzubika an ushîba fîhâ yamînan fâjiratan au shafqatan khâsiratan In the name of Allah, O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of this journey and the goodness within it, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil within it. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from being weak or misguided during it.

Translation: "It means: 'O Allah, I beseech You to grant me the goodness of this country, the goodness of its inhabitants, and the goodness of everything within it; and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this country, the evil of its inhabitants, and any evil that exists within it.'"

The next sunnah after returning from Hajj is to enter the mosque and perform two units of prayer. Similarly, when entering the house, it is recommended not to forget to perform two units of prayer first, supplicate, and express gratitude to Allah SWT.

(O Allah) we ask You to grant us perfect repentance. We return to our Lord, may our sins not remain.

Ibadah haji is a worship commanded by Allah SWT. Where when performing it is a form of obedience and devotion to Allah SWT. Therefore, the pilgrims must do it with sincerity and submission. In addition, hajj must also be done with a pure intention and a pure heart. Therefore, when the worship is completed and returning to the homeland, one must be able to behave better than before.
