Wukuf di Arafah on June 27, 2023, This is the Appeal for Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims

Dream - The Saudi government has decided to hold the wukuf in Arafah on 9 Zulhijah 1444 H, which falls on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

"Based on the isbat session, Saudi Arabia has decided that on the 9th of Zulhijah, the wukuf in Arafah will coincide with June 27, 2023. The information has been published today," said the Head of the Indonesian Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, Daker Mekah, Khalilurrahman, as quoted from Liputan6.com, Monday, June 19, 2023.

Therefore, Khalilurrahman urged the pilgrims to always maintain their health. The pilgrims will be moved from their accommodations in Mecca to tents in Arafah on 8 Zulhijah 1444 H or Monday, June 26, 2023.

"Considering that this year's hajj peak is during the dry season, where the weather in Arafah and Mecca reaches 45 degrees Celsius, the most important appeal is for the pilgrims to consume enough fluids, sufficient nutritious food, and rest," he said.

The pilgrims are asked not to engage in many outdoor activities, especially starting from 5 days before the peak of the hajj rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).

The pilgrims are also advised not to exert themselves in performing voluntary prayers in Masjidil Haram, as the conditions there are becoming more congested.

"Do not go out too much, when it reaches 5 days before or 3 days before, the hajj pilgrims are expected to completely rest from excessive physical activities that can hinder the pilgrims' health and physical condition," said Kholilurrahman.

During the masyair implementation in Armuzna, the pilgrims are advised to focus on worship inside the provided tents. This is because the weather in Saudi Arabia during the peak of the hajj is very hot.

"Because their purpose of arriving in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina is to perform worship. So do not engage in many outdoor activities, as it will reduce their energy and may affect their physical health condition," he added.

According to the 1444 H Hajj Travel Plan released by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), all Indonesian pilgrims will be gradually departed from Mecca to Arafah on 8 Zulhijah or Monday, June 26, 2023.

All pilgrims will then perform the wukuf in Arafah on 9 Zulhijah or Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Meanwhile, Eid al-Adha on 10 Zulhijah in Saudi Arabia will fall on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Mabit and Overnight Stay in Muzdalifah

After the wukuf in Arafah on 9 Zulhijah, the hajj pilgrims will perform mabit or overnight stay in Muzdalifah while also collecting small stones to be used for stoning the Jamarat. The next day, on 10 Zulhijah, the pilgrims will perform jumrah aqobah.

Afterwards, the pilgrims will stay overnight in tents provided in Mina during the tasyrik days on 11-13 Zulhijah or June 29 - July 1, 2023.

Pilgrims who take the early nafar will perform stoning the jamarat ula, wustho, and aqobah on the 11th and 12th of Zulhijah and return to Mecca before sunset.

Meanwhile, pilgrims who take the second nafar will perform stoning the jamarat during the three tasyrik days, namely 11-13 Zulhijah, and then return to Mecca.
