Appearance of the New Toyota Alphard at GIIAS 2023, a More Luxurious Premium MPV

Dream - PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) launched the Alphard Hybrid premium MPV at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

This latest Toyota MPV comes with a more boxy design but does not give a rigid impression. With a solid posture, this car gives a powerful and assertive impression.

“One of the main attractions of the Toyota Alphard since its first release is the attractive exterior design for a Big MPV,” said Vice President of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Henry Tanoto.

Not only in terms of exterior, this luxurious MPV has also undergone improvements in terms of interior and cabin. 

Compared to its predecessor, the All New Alphard is 50 mm longer but made 10 mm lower. This design was created to improve maneuver stability and a more spacious cabin.

One important change in this new car is found in the second row of the cabin. The latest Alphard Hybrid is already equipped with a Super Long Hauled Overhead Console.

The console, which is placed on the roof, allows passengers to open windows and adjust the lighting according to their preferences.

The All New Alphard launched at GIIAS 2023 has several types to choose from, starting from the basic models 2.5 X, 2.5 G, and 2.5 HV. It is available in 2 color options, namely Platinum White Pearl and Black. As for the interior, the Black color option is available for all types.

This latest Toyota MPV is available with gasoline and hybrid engine options. The 2.5 X and 2.5 G types are equipped with a gasoline engine with code 2AR-FE 2,494 cc 4-cylinder, producing 134 kW of power at 6,000 rpm and 235 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm, which is also transmitted by a CVT transmission to the front wheels.

Meanwhile, the All New Alphard 2.5 HV, which uses a hybrid engine with code A25A-FXS 2,487 cc 4-cylinder, produces 140 kW of power at 6,000 rpm and 239 Nm of torque at 4,300-4,500 rpm. This engine uses technology that reduces size and weight while improving efficiency, making it powerful and fuel efficient.

The luxurious impression is even more evident when the door is opened, with a footstep that is about 220 mm above the ground, providing a lower foothold than the car floor for passengers to enter and exit.

Interestingly, the moon roof is also extended backwards on the left-right ceiling storage, giving each passenger the freedom to enjoy the sky view or close it to rest peacefully.
