Esemka Electric Cars Showcased at IIMS, Battery Can Last for 300 Km

Dream - For the first time, PT Solo Manufaktur Kreasi, as the manufacturer of Esemka cars, appeared at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) automotive exhibition.

This local car manufacturer introduced its new product, the Esemka Bima EV, at Jiexpo, Kemayoran, on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Eddy Wirajaya, President Director of PT Solo Manufaktur, stated that they released the Bima EV to support the government's pandemic policy.

In addition, as a local product that introduces new technology, research and technology transfer with partners are needed.

“Electric Vehicles are new technology that we, as a local brand and local factory, need research and technology transfer to collaborate. So, at this moment, we made the decision to participate in this largest IIMS event,” said Eddy during the IIMS exhibition.

He said that if the market response is good, Esemka will start production this year. Currently, this local car is produced as a prototype and will be followed by CKD production in Boyolali.

“The Esemka electric car prototype displayed at IIMS is a collaboration with other automotive manufacturers abroad,” he said.

The Esemka Bima EV car consists of a Cargo Van variant with two passenger seats in the front, and a Passenger Van with 11 seating capacity.

Both are equipped with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with the code TM4018, which can produce a maximum power of 75 kW and a maximum torque of 165 Nm.

In addition, this car is equipped with an electric battery that can be used for driving up to 300 km on a single charge.

The car battery can be charged using fast charging (quick charge/DC) for one hour, and slow charging (AC) for eight hours.

He hopes that this product can contribute to the government's program and provide benefits to its users.

“Hopefully, this can contribute to the government's program for a blue sky, and also environmentally friendly, and provide economic impact to users in terms of small and medium enterprises,” he said.

Meanwhile, this car can already be ordered by the public at the showroom located in Boyolali or through telephone and can be delivered outside the city.

He revealed that the Bima car with 11 passenger seats is sold for Rp540 million.

“The passenger variant with 11 seats is priced at 540 million,” he concluded.
