Stage of Talent to Encourage the Talents of Disabled People Held by Lions Indonesia

"Dream - Lions Club Indonesia Association is once again organizing an event to showcase the talents of our friends with disabilities. This activity in 2024 is a routine agenda that has been carried out since the previous years."

The disabled community in Indonesia is asked to send videos showcasing their talents to the committee. Until now, there are a total of 600 videos from all over the archipelago. They are enthusiastic about showcasing various abilities, such as dancing, pantomiming, painting, and singing.

Support from such a large family enables people with disabilities to continue exploring their talents. For participants who pass the selection, they undergo quarantine and receive training from many socially conscious musicians such as Anton Jamaica, Dwiki Dharmawan, and singer Dewi Yul. They also receive leadership and self-reliance training from the Lions Club Indonesia. The talent stage participants are selected to the top 20, then the top 14 are chosen in the elimination concert on May 12, 2024, at the South Jakarta Mayor's Office.

Until finally eliminated to only 8 finalists in the second elimination concert. Finally, the top 3 were chosen on Sunday, May 19, 2024, directly. The top 3 categories were selected without determining the champion. This is because this competition showcases different talents in each category.

They are Septiandi Aldien, talented blind musicians with excellent skills in playing Saxophone, Sopranos, and Piano from Jakarta. The blind music group named Puser Bumi is captivating with their modern traditional stage performances, as well as the singers Duo Urba and Said from Jogjakarta.

The winners all received a prize of Rp30 million. The Jury Panel, who made the selection, consists of Denny Malik, Nirina Zubir, Anton, and Ananda Sukarlan.

Many parties support and are committed to providing a platform for people with disabilities to shine and prove that they can contribute to society from the Talent Stage. People with disabilities not only show extraordinary abilities but also inspiring determination to many people. This shows that every obstacle can be overcome with high spirits.

This concert is expected to not only be an entertainment event, but also as a means of education and advocacy to increase public awareness about the importance of support for people with disabilities. Through "Panggung Talenta," PT Pegadaian hopes to motivate more institutions and individuals to actively participate in supporting the rights of people with disabilities.
