1,921 Prospective Civil Servant Candidates Resigned Due to Unsatisfactory Salary

Dream - The State Personnel Agency (BKN) revealed that as many as 1,921 participants in the 2022 Civil Servant Recruitment with Employment Agreement (PPPK) decided to resign. One of the reasons that emerged is the mismatch between job and income with the expectations of the applicants.

In addition to income issues, Acting Head of the State Personnel Agency (BKN), Haryomo Dwi Putranto, revealed that participants also resigned due to placement location reasons.

"For this reason, BKN will provide detailed information on each position in the applied formation," said Haryomo quoted from Merdeka.com, Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

BKN plans to provide a feature in the SSCASN portal that contains detailed information ranging from job descriptions to salaries that are open in the 2023 Civil Servant Candidate (CASN) selection.

With this job information menu, CASN 2023 selection applicants will be facilitated in finding out detailed information about the formations they will apply for.

Prior to the opening of the 2023 CASN selection scheduled for September, Haryomo also urged all government agencies to pay more attention to the administrative selection stages in detail so as not to disadvantage any applicants.

He also urged applicants to carefully consider before registering, both in terms of positions, locations, and income.

Previously, the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) has determined that a total of 572,496 civil servant candidate (CASN) positions will be recruited in 2023. This data was taken as of August 1, 2023.

These positions apply to both the 2023 CPNS and civil servants with employment agreements (PPPK).

This amount is to fill 72 central government agency positions with 78,862 civil servants, and 493,634 civil servants for regional governments.

Prioritize Contract Workers, Fresh Graduate Quota in the 2023 CPNS Formation is Only 20%

Dream - Out of the total quota of participants in the 2023 Civil Servant Candidate (CASN) selection, the government only provides a 20 percent quota for fresh graduates.

The 20 percent quota includes both the 2023 CPNS and civil servants with employment agreements (PPPK). Meanwhile, 80 percent is for contract workers.

"This year the ratio is 80:20, 80 percent for contract workers, 20 percent for fresh graduates," said the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenpanRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, quoted from  Liputan6.com, Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

The government itself is opening a total of 572,496 CPNS vacancies. The government prioritizes contract workers to become civil servants because many of them have been in the system for a very long time.

"So they need to immediately get a position, one of which is PPPK. And this number is not just thousands, but reaches millions," he added.

On the other hand, he revealed that he is often contacted by new graduates who want to enter the government. Anas is often tempted that they have the appropriate competence and are needed by the country.

"How come our formations haven't been opened for several years? If not, this republic will become a contract workers' republic," he said. "In my WhatsApp, they (fresh graduates) keep coming to me through social media regarding fresh graduates who have no formations."

According to Anas, the formations for new graduates are not yet needed by all agencies, especially regional governments. However, he believes that there are several vacancies that can be filled by fresh graduates.

"Fresh graduates, what are they? Not all regions are ready to accept fresh graduates. One of the urgent needs is digital talent," he concluded.
