BSI Collaborates with Muhammadiyah to Provide Special Houses for Teachers, Can be Paid in Installments of Rp900 Thousand/Month

Dream - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) collaborates with the Central Board of Muhammadiyah (PP Muhammadiyah) to distribute subsidized home ownership financing through the Prosperous Housing Ownership Credit (KPR Sejahtera FLPP) to teachers within the Muhammadiyah community.

In its implementation, BSI also collaborates with the Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) and the National Housing Development Agency (Perumnas).

BSI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that this collaboration is BSI's commitment to support the government's program in providing solutions to the community to have decent housing at an affordable cost and in accordance with Sharia principles.

He revealed that this program is also one of the efforts to overcome the housing backlog in Indonesia. It is known that Indonesia currently lacks 13-15 million houses needed by the people.

"We are certainly happy to support the housing procurement program for Muhammadiyah school teachers in Indonesia, so that BSI always brings blessings and benefits that can be felt by everyone," said Hery at the PP Muhammadiyah Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Through this collaboration program, BSI provides several conveniences for teachers who want to own a house, including free insurance premiums and VAT, fixed installments for up to 15 years, and a down payment subsidy of up to Rp4 million.

BSI also provides the KILAU SURYA program, which will be implemented from April 1 to June 30, 2023, in the form of a subsidy for financing process costs worth Rp1 million.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the MEBP PP Muhammadiyah, Arif Budimanta, informed that the subsidy is specifically for teachers with a monthly income below Rp8 million, a minimum down payment of Rp1 million, and a 5% interest rate.

"The Economic and Business Council is collaborating to develop a facility program for Muhammadiyah teachers, especially those who are in need," he said.

Deputy Commissioner for Fund Utilization of BP Tapera, Ariev Baginda Siregar, added that teachers can pay installments starting from Rp900 thousand according to the retirement period. The prices of the houses provided range from Rp120 million to Rp150 million.

These houses are located in the Bogor area, West Java, with a starting area of 60 square meters intended for teachers who do not yet have a house.

Meanwhile, Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Muhadjir Effendy, stated that providing subsidies to teachers is an effort to improve the quality of education in Muhammadiyah schools.

Moreover, Muhadjir added that currently many teachers in Muhammadiyah schools have low incomes.

"If we want teachers to work thoroughly and maximally, their basic needs must be fulfilled. Because everything can be achieved if teachers are prosperous," said Muhadjir.

Muhadjir hopes that the BSI KPR Sejahtera FLPP program and Muhammadiyah can be implemented throughout Indonesia. He mentioned that Muhammadiyah has data on teachers in Muhammadiyah schools who still have low incomes.

"Because Muhammadiyah takes on a role in the gaps where the state is absent, especially in the field of education because we have branches and sub-branches. Therefore, an integrated ecosystem must be built," he said.
