Verdict of Appeal Trial: Ferdy Sambo Still Sentenced to Death

Dream - The Panel of Judges of the High Court of DKI Jakarta affirmed the decision of the South Jakarta District Court to impose the death penalty on Ferdy Sambo for the murder case of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J. Thus, Ferdy Sambo remains sentenced to death.

"Affirming the decision of the South Jakarta District Court 796/Pid.B/2022/PN JKT.SEL dated February 13, 2023, which was appealed," said Chief Judge Singgih Budi Prakoso during the trial at the High Court of DKI Jakarta, Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

It is known that at the first level, Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death. Sambo was found guilty of premeditated murder against his assistant, Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.

Ferdy Sambo was found guilty of violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 sub-paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. Sambo was also found guilty of violating Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 sub-paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

As is known, Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death by the Panel of Judges at the South Jakarta District Court for the murder case of Brigadier J. Meanwhile, his wife, Putri Candrawathi, was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for the same case.

Three other individuals, namely Kuat Maruf, Ricky Rizal, and Bharada E, who are Ferdy Sambo's subordinates, were also sentenced to prison for the same murder.
