Story of Cristiano Ronaldo's Comrade in the Portuguese National Team who is Now a Flight Attendant

Dream - This is the story of Costinha, Cristiano Ronaldo's comrade in the Portuguese national team, who now chooses to become a flight attendant. 

Costinha used to play with Ronaldo when the U-15 Portugal team faced South Africa on February 24, 2001. The result was Portugal's national team winning with a score of 2-1. At that time, Costinha played as a midfielder, while Ronaldo played as a winger. 

Costinha also briefly reached the U-20 level with the Portuguese national team and played in the lower divisions. Unfortunately, he never played at the senior level.

On the other hand, Ronaldo's football career took off. He has played for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al-Nassr.  Meanwhile, Costinha chose to quit playing football in 2011.

Costinha left his football career at the age of 25 and pursued a career in aviation. He is currently happily working as a flight attendant and recently served the legendary coach Jose Mourinho.

In an interview with Maisfutebol in October, he revealed the reason for his early retirement.

“Football in the lower divisions requires a lot of physical strength, it started to give me problems, I constantly got injured,” said Costinha (via talkSPORT).

“When I saw that I would no longer reach a high level, that I couldn't do it, I made a conscious decision to leave. Many let themselves be dragged too late, you even have legitimacy for it, to be trusted, because I had a very promising start,” Costinha continued.

He also shared his experience playing with Ronaldo, claiming that the Portuguese icon was better than others even in his early days. 

“I think the most symbolic moment in his (Ronaldo's) career is the first match for the national team, under 15 years old. Even today, I get chills when I hear the national anthem,” Costinha revealed.

“Of course, it became more symbolic because Cristiano Ronaldo also made his debut that day, although we were still far from knowing how far he would go. At that time, he was a much more noble player and was already at a much higher level than the others,” Costinha continued.
