The shophouse, with an area of 129 square meters, is being sold for Rp12 billion. The man then continued to roam around and found another shophouse for sale.

He was shocked to find out that the two-story building had been sold for Rp18.5 billion.

Viral Two-Story House that Refused Compensation for the Yogyakarta-Solo Toll Road Worth Rp3.5 Billion Finally Gives Up, Owner Admits Forced to Demolish It

Dream - The viral two-story house that refused compensation a few weeks ago has finally been demolished by its owner.

The green building went viral because the owner refused compensation of Rp3.5 billion from the government.

The position of the house is in the middle of the construction of the Yogyakarta Solo Toll Road project in Kauman Village, Ngawen District, Klaten Regency, Central Java.

The demolition was carried out after the owner received the compensation for the land affected by the toll road project offered by the land acquisition committee.

Kasi Pengadaan Tanah BPN Klaten Sulistiyono said that the house owned by Setyo Subagyo was demolished by the owner himself. Setyo was said to have received compensation of Rp3.5 billion for the house.

"Mr. Setyo has signed the agreement letter for the payment of compensation. He has already taken the compensation at the Klaten District Court," said Sulis on Friday, March 10, 2023.

According to Sulis, with the acceptance of compensation for the land affected by the toll road project, the issue regarding the land owned by Setyo Subagyo has been resolved.

"With Mr. Setyo, there is no longer any problem, he demolished the house himself, and the compensation value remains Rp3.5 billion," he said.

Furthermore, Sulis stated that the demolition of the house was carried out by the owner himself since Thursday, March 9, 2023.

"According to the information, materials such as doors and iron have already been sold. So, he demolished it himself," said Sulis.

Meanwhile, Christian Nugroho, the staff of the Yogyakarta Solo Toll Road project's commitment maker in Klaten, also confirmed the news.

The owner of the house, Setyo Subagio, confirmed that he has received compensation of Rp3.5 billion for his house.

He admitted that he accepted the compensation reluctantly because there was no hope that the value would increase as he had hoped.

In a video uploaded on the TikTok account KakaTV, a heavy machinery can be seen demolishing the house from the back.

As for the doors and windows in front of the house, they appear to have been manually dismantled.

The roof or tiles of the house have also been removed one by one by workers who are demolishing the house.
