DANA-Ant Group Seeks Women to be Trained as Entrepreneurs, Total Business Capital Prize of Rp200 Million

Dream - DANA, a digital wallet-based financial technology platform, has partnered with Ant Group to launch the mentoring and competition program 'SisBerdaya' that empowers Indonesian women entrepreneurs. Selected candidates participating in this competition will receive business capital assistance totaling around Rp200 million.

Chief of People & Corporate Strategy of DANA Indonesia, Agustina Samara, said that the SisBerdaya program is designed to bridge financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia, especially for women.

DANA records that there are at least 500 thousand SMEs registered in DANA Business. However, only 19 percent of those managed businesses have female leaders.

“This figure also indicates a lack of access, participation, and opportunities for women to utilize financial technology in business and can hinder them in running their business,” she said during the launch of the SisBerdaya competition in Jakarta, Tuesday, 14 March 2023.

The mentoring and competition program held by DANA and Ant Group is expected to help women manage businesses, especially in mastering digital skills.

Currently, 60 percent of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia are managed by women. These businesses have contributed 61.07 percent to the national GDP.

For the SisBerdaya competition, participants will be divided into two categories, namely ultra-micro and micro. The ultra-micro category is intended for businesses with 1-5 employees and monthly revenues ranging from Rp1 million to Rp10 million.

Meanwhile, the micro category will be participated by business managers with 6-20 employees and monthly revenues ranging from Rp11 million to Rp30 million.

Registration for SisBerdaya has been open from 14 March to 17 April 2023 through the DANA application. The registration committee will then select 180 participants to receive online skills training and mentoring.

The training will last for 1 month with mentors consisting of experts from DANA, Ant Group, industry partners, and government representatives. 

The holistic skills training held during the mentoring phase includes topics such as Business Management, Digital Payments and Marketing, Global Sales Strategies, and others. 

In addition, hybrid sessions with face-to-face training will be held in the Jabodetabek, Pekanbaru, and Makassar regions. At the end of the phase, all participants must submit their business plans for final evaluation. 

In the final stage, the committee will select the top 5 participants from each category who will gather in Jakarta to undergo the final presentation competition in May 2023. Participants in this stage will compete for a final prize of up to Rp20 million. 

To make SisBerdaya a more inclusive program, all materials developed during skills training and mentoring will be available to the public on the DANA application after the program ends, potentially reaching and benefiting 100,000 other Indonesian women entrepreneurs.

1. Participants selected to participate in and complete the mentoring session will receive business capital of:
a. Ultra Micro Business: Rp3,000,000/participant
b. Micro Business: Rp8,000,000/participant

2. Mentoring participants selected as winners will receive business capital prizes of:
a. Ultra Micro Business:
i. 1st Place: Rp20,000,000
ii. 2nd Place: Rp15,000,000
iii. 3rd Place: Rp10,000,000
iv. 4th Place: Rp5,000,000 /winner (there will be 2 winners)

b. Micro Business:
i. 1st Place: Rp35,000,000
ii. 2nd Place: Rp20,000,000
iii. 3rd Place: Rp15,000,000
iv. 4th Place: Rp10,000,000/winner (there will be 2 winners)
