Horror Story of Staying in a Famous Hotel But the Door Cannot Be Locked, This is What Happened to Guests Throughout the Night

Dream - After being stuck in traffic for five hours on the Johor-Singapore Flyover last Thursday, Singaporean Lawrens Tan imagined being able to have a peaceful night's sleep in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

But the creative director admitted that he was forced to stay awake in his hotel room, which cost 110 Singapore dollars or about 1.2 million Indonesian Rupiah per night.

The problem was that the 44-year-old man said his hotel door was broken and could not be locked, and it was only fixed the next day.

"It's truly a horror story," Tan joked in a TikTok video recounting his experience, which he posted on Sunday.

Tan then recounted the chronology of his horror experience while staying in the famous hotel in Malaysia.

That night, Tan accompanied his wife, daughter, and housemaid for a three-day vacation in Johor Bahru, which ended last Saturday.

This was the first time Tan's family stayed in a hotel not far from the Malaysia-Singapore border.

Tan added that he paid about 430 Singapore dollars or about 4.8 million Indonesian Rupiah for two rooms at KSL Hotel & Resort.

Joining other tourists who spent the long weekend in Malaysia, Tan's family could only check-in at 10:00 PM local time.

But Tan was horrified and shocked when he could open the hotel room door just by turning the doorknob.

However, famous hotel doors should use a card-shaped key to open the door first.

Realizing that it was not a trivial matter, Tan then went to the hotel reception to ask for help.

But until late at night, no one came to fix his hotel room door. So he couldn't close his eyes throughout the night.

What annoyed him was that a staff member told Tan that they were busy because many guests had made bookings.

In his TikTok video, Tan showed how he used several hangers to 'lock' the hotel room door.

"I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else," he said in the video.

In addition to hangers, Tan also showed how he used an ironing board to hold the hotel room door.

"[My wife and I] couldn't sleep well because we were afraid for our safety.

"After breakfast the next day, we reported the issue again and the hotel took action," he said.

Although his hotel room key was eventually fixed quickly, Tan will think twice about staying in that hotel again.
