Dream - The man who stuck QRIS stickers on mosques and went viral on social media finally appeared and provided clarification. He apologized for causing a stir.
The man revealed several admissions through his Instagram account @imanabuaf. He apologized to the public and mentioned that there had been a misunderstanding.
"I apologize for causing a misunderstanding, hopefully with this clarification, everyone can understand," wrote the account.
He admitted to replacing the mosque's QRIS only to conduct an inspection related to his work.
However, the man did not clearly explain the meaning of "conducting an inspection."
The overweight man admitted that he did not know the amount of money that had been deposited into the account under the name of Mosque Restoration.
But he promised to return the money.
"Someone asked: What does it have to do with the inspection? I work in the field of inspection, sir/ma'am. For example (but not this case): Please check, how long is the process for payment with 'anu,' are there any deductions, maybe it didn't go through, is there any sharing? So, we determine samples, quietly, if it's obvious, there's no need to inspect, just ask. Once again, I apologize, it's the risk of the job, but any potential financial losses will be compensated," wrote the man.
The Instagram account @imanabuaf then showed evidence that he had transferred the money that entered the Mosque Restoration account to the account of Nurul Iman Mosque.
"Assalamu'alaikum, due to the lack of significant response from both QRIS organizers, considering: 1. Friends are worried that I am not responsible. 2. The longer the resolution process
Therefore, ALL the money that has ever entered through my QRIS is entrusted/returned temporarily to the official account of Nurul Iman Mosque in Blok M. [Calculations and evidence can be seen in the slide]. This does not eliminate my obligation to continue visiting the DKM of these mosques. Once again, I apologize for doing something that violates procedures," he wrote.
Previously, the actions of a man who replaced QRIS stickers on mosques in South Jakarta on Thursday, April 6, 2023, went viral.
His fraudulent actions were recorded by CCTV in two mosques and the videos went viral on social media. The man in a blue shirt was seen in action at Nurul Iman Mosque in Blok M Square, Kebayoran Baru, and Nurullah Mosque in Kalibata, Pancoran, South Jakarta.
In the CCTV footage, he was seen peeling off several stickers and sticking QRIS stickers on the top side of the donation box. The stickers under the name of Mosque Restoration were suspected to be his personal account at Bank Nobu.
