Open Indonesia Pathfinder Camporee 2023, Minister of Youth and Sports Wants Camping to Have a Positive Impact on the Younger Generation

Dream - Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo, officially opened the Indonesia Pathfinder Camporee 'Niscala' 3rd Year 2023 at the Pramuka Cibubur Scout Camp, Jakarta.

Minister Dito believes that this activity has a positive impact on the young generation as the future of the nation.

"I am glad to join the pathfinders in this event. I believe that activities like this are positively beneficial and have a positive impact on Indonesia in the future," said Minister Dito during the opening ceremony on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Pathfinder is a youth organization sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church (GMAHK) worldwide.

The 3rd Indonesia Pathfinder Camporee is held from June 26 to July 2, 2023 in Buperta, Cibubur, Jakarta. It is attended by 5,000 young participants from all provinces in Indonesia.

"I would like to thank GMAHK for contributing and embracing the young generation in shaping the balanced physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual development of the young generation of the nation," said Minister Dito.

"Congratulations on conducting the 3rd pathfinder club camping activity," added Minister Dito, with the theme of Niscala, which is the endangered Javan Rhinoceros.

Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Reverend Roni Wenas, stated that pathfinder is a scouting activity for teenagers and young people in the GMAHK environment. Pathfinder has six classes: friend, companion, investigator, pioneer, explorer, and leader.

"Pathfinder is a club that emphasizes fellowship, skills, and understanding of activities within and outside the church. Especially the emphasis on character formation and good spirituality," he said.

"Pathfinder is also often involved in various social activities in the community such as disaster management, service to disabled people both domestically and internationally. Pathfinders must be strong in facing future challenges," he concluded.
