Dream – Prayer after isyroq prayer may still sound unfamiliar to some Muslim communities. Ishraq prayer is a sunnah prayer performed at sunrise. This prayer is also known as syuruq prayer.

The isyroq prayer time is almost close to the dhuha prayer. However, isyroq prayer is not dhuha prayer. Because the dhuha prayer is actually performed when the sun has risen a bit. While the syuruq prayer is performed right at sunrise until the dhuha time enters.

Hadith about the Recommendation of Syuruq Prayer

Syuruq prayer is recommended as an additional or nafilah worship besides performing the obligatory five daily prayers. One of the hadiths that explains the recommendation of isyroq prayer is as follows:

From Anas bin Malik radhiyallahu'anhu he said, the Messenger of Allah SAW said, "Whoever prays in the morning (subuh) in congregation, then he sits in remembrance of Allah SWT until the sun rises, then he performs two raka'at (syuruq prayer), then for him is the reward like the reward of performing Hajj and Umrah. The Messenger of Allah SAW said, 'Perfect, perfect, perfect.' (HR. Tirmidhi no. 586, he said that this hadith is hasan gharib).

Intention of Isyroq Prayer

Knowing the intention is no less important than reading the prayer after isyroq prayer. Intention is the main key to strengthen the heart when going to perform worship. A sincere intention will make the isyroq prayer even more sincere.

The intention can be said in the heart or whispered with the tongue. Here is the reading of the intention that you need to know:

أُصَلِّي سُنَّةَ الْإِشْرَاقِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

Ushalli sunnatal isyraqi rak'ataini lillahi ta'ala.

Meaning: "I intend to perform the sunnah prayer of isyroq, two raka'at for the sake of Allah Ta'ala."

Prayer After Isyroq Prayer

The isyroq sunnah prayer will be more perfect if it is followed by reciting a prayer. The prayer after isyroq prayer also needs to be recited. How? Here is how it goes:

أَللَّهُمَّ يَا نُورُ النُّورِ بِالثُّرِيِّ وَكِتَابٍ مَّشْتُورٍ فِي رِقٍّ مَّنْسُورٍ وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ، أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرْزُقُنِي نُورًا أَسْتَهْدِي بِهِ إِلَيْكَ وَأَدَلُّ بِهِ عَلَيْكَ وَيَشْهَبُنِي فِي حَيَاتِي وَبَعْدَ الْانْتِقَالِ مِن ظُلَمِ مِسْكَاتِي، وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا وَنَفْسٍ مَّا سِوَاهَا أَنْ تَجْعَلَ شَمْسَ مَعْرِفَتِكَ مُشْرِقَةً بِي لَا يَحْجُبُهَا غَيْمُ الْأَوْهَامِ وَلَا يَعْتَرِضُهَا كُسُوفُ قَمَرِ الْوَحْدَانِيَّةِ كَامِلَةً عِنْدَ الْتَمَامِ بَلْ أَضْهَاهَا دَائِمًا وَدَائِمًا تَظْهَرُ مَعَ مَرَّ الْأَيَّامِ وَالسِّنِينَ، وَبَارِكْ رَحْمَةَ تَعْظِيمٍ يَا اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ. اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِوَالِدَيْنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا فِي اللَّهِ أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا أَجْمَعِينَ.

Meaning: "O Allah, O Light of Lights, with the means of the Thur mountain and the Book written on the open pages, and with the means of Baitul Ma'mur, I ask You to give me light, with which I can seek Your guidance, and with which I can show about You. And always accompany me in my life and after moving (to the other realm; rising from the grave) from the darkness of the grave. And I ask You with the means of the sun and its light in the morning, and the glory that exists other than the sun, so that You make the sun of Your recognition (that exists in me) shine brightly on me, not covered by the clouds of doubt, nor passed by the eclipse of the moon of Your divinity when it is full moon. But always make it shine and always appear, as the days and years go by. And give the grace of glorification, O Allah, to our master Muhammad, the seal of the prophets and messengers. And all praise is only for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. O Allah, forgive us, our parents, and all our brothers and sisters in faith, both the living and the dead."

That is the reading of the prayer after isyroq prayer that needs to be practiced. Ishraq prayer has many virtues, including being prayed for by the angels, getting the reward of Hajj and Umrah, being protected from the fire of hell, and having all needs fulfilled.
