Viral Father Carrying Child While Praying in Congregation Because No One is Watching

Prayer is not just a routine, it is a form of human obedience to Allah SWT. A man recorded on camera went viral because he was praying while carrying his baby.

In a video uploaded on Instagram by @folkshitt, the man became an Imam in a prayer held in a mosque. Behind him, there is a woman who is the only follower and is suspected to be his wife.

One thing that caught attention is the baby who is still being carried while praying. The young father hugged the baby with both hands.

Without losing focus, he continued to lead the prayer, reciting each rak'ah, even though his hands could not perform the takbir.

Fortunately, the child did not appear fussy and remained calm even though he was being carried in a praying position where the father had to perform rukuk and sujud.

This short video became a topic of discussion among netizens who filled the comment section. Many speculated that this man had to pray while carrying his child because there was no one to take care of the child and it was risky to leave the child with strangers.

Some appreciate the man for still performing prayer regardless of the circumstances.

Other netizens argue that the prayer is not valid because it lacks tranquility (tuma'ninah) and question the opinions of scholars. Some suggest that it would be better to take turns praying to take care of the child.
