Do 6 Steps of Baby Teeth Care, So They Always Grow Healthy

Dream - Taking care of children's teeth can be easy or difficult, especially if your child is still a baby. Nevertheless, dental care should still be done since infancy. This is aimed at maintaining healthy teeth from an early age and ensuring proper growth even for baby teeth.

Do 6 Steps of Baby Teeth Care, So They Always Grow Healthy

"To take care of your little one's teeth, it turns out there are special tips and tricks, Dream Friends. Let's find out the 6 important steps that can be done to keep your little one's teeth well-maintained."

1. Clean the Oral Cavity

First, Sahabat Dream should instill the habit of taking care of teeth from an early age, even when the child is still a baby. To clean the mouth cavity of a baby who does not yet have teeth, you can use a soft wet cloth. Gently wipe and massage the baby's gums. You can also use a cloth shaped like a finger cot that is placed on the fingertip.

2. Take Care of Your Teeth Since the First Grow

Toothpaste in childhood is as important as permanent teeth. Although temporary, baby teeth must also be well maintained. If Sahabat Dream has seen hard white spots on the baby's gums, teach the child to learn to brush their teeth immediately. Brush the newly grown teeth twice a day. No need to use toothpaste to brush the first growing teeth.

3. Avoid Cavities

Tooth decay is the main enemy that must be avoided. Avoiding tooth decay is a challenging task for children's teeth. To prevent tooth decay, teach children to brush their teeth regularly. However, do not let children brush their teeth on their own. Children who brush their teeth on their own are likely to not clean their teeth properly.

In addition, do not let Sahabat Dream allow the baby to sleep with a milk bottle. Milk contains sugar which can cause tooth decay. The same goes for sweet juice. When you see your child's teeth start to change color, it is likely that their teeth will develop cavities. Therefore, extra care is needed if you have noticed these signs.

4. Give Water After Eating

Plain water serves to neutralize the sweet and sour taste after eating. Teach the baby to clean and neutralize the oral cavity after eating by drinking plain water. Plain water will remove most of the food particles that cause damage to the child's teeth.

5. Use Toothpaste at the Age of 2 Years

When a child reaches the age of 2, they can start using toothpaste. At this age, children will start to become lazy and selective when brushing their teeth. Therefore, Sahabat Dream can choose toothpaste with aroma and taste to encourage the child to brush their teeth. It is important to note that fluoride toothpaste should not be used until the age of 3 to prevent swallowing.

6. Invite Children for Dental Check-Up

"Usually, young children are afraid when taken to the dentist. Therefore, Sahabat Dream should take the child to the dentist as early as possible so that they get used to it. There's no need to wait for dental problems, you can take the child to the dentist to check if there are any teeth that have the potential to develop cavities."

By bringing children to the dentist, Sahabat Dream provides an opportunity for them to experience meeting a dentist firsthand. Children will personally feel that the dentist's chair is not frightening. Report: Salma Rihhadatul Aisy / Source: CenturyStoneDental.
