Mount Sinai is also known as Mount Moses or Mount Hareh. In Hebrew, this mountain is called Har Sinai, while in Arabic it is called Jabal Musa. Located in the central southern part of the Sinai Peninsula, in the Janub Sina region. In the book "Fi Zhilal al-Quran", Sayyid Quthb explains that Mount Tursina or Mount Sinai has important significance in the history of the covenant of Prophet Moses. Its location can still be found today.

Not only in the Quran, but the Bible (Gospel) also records the existence of Mount Sinai. In the Bible, it is explained that after crossing the Red Sea, Prophet Moses and the Israelites embarked on a long journey through the wilderness. They then arrived at a place known as Mount Tur or Mount Sinai. The Bible also mentions that Mount Sinai is the location where Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments, which form the basis of monotheism.

"Previously, it was believed that Mount Sinai was located in Egypt. However, the latest research conducted by Ryan Mauro revealed that this mountain is actually located across the Gulf of Aqaba. In the documentary film titled 'Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia', Mount Sinai is mentioned to be in Saudi Arabia, and even the government has been aware of this. Until now, there has been no official response from the government regarding the documentary film."

Tak hanya di Alkitab, Gunung Sinai juga disebutkan dalam Al-Quran, salah satunya Surat Al-A'raf ayat 143: [وَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَن تَرَانِي ۖ وَلَٰكِنِ انظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانُهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي ۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا ۚ فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ] Wa lammā jā'a mūsā limīqātinā wa kallamahu rabbuhu qāla rabbi arinī anẓur ilaika, qāla lan tarānī walākininẓur ilal-jabali fa inistaqarra makānuhu fa saufa tarānī, fa lammā tajallā rabbuhu lil-jabali ja'alahū dakkaw wa kharra mūsā ṣa'iqā, fa lammā afāqa qāla subḥānaka tubtu ilaika wa ana awwalul-mu'minīn. Translation: Not only in the Bible, Mount Sinai is also mentioned in the Quran, one of which is in Surah Al-A'raf verse 143: "[And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, 'My Lord, show Yourself to me that I may look at You.' [Allah] said, 'You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me.' But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it crumble to dust, and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, 'Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.']"

"And when Moses came to (converse) at the appointed time and the Lord spoke (directly) to him, Moses said, 'My Lord, show Yourself to me so that I may look at You.' Allah said, 'You will not be able to see Me, but look at the mountain; if it remains in its place, then you will be able to see Me.' So when his Lord manifested His glory to the mountain, He made it crumble to dust and Moses fell unconscious. And when Moses recovered, he said, 'Glory be to You! I repent to You, and I am the first of the believers.'"
