Constitutional Judge Arsul Sani assessed that there is no anomaly in the social assistance budget ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election. The Constitutional Court stated that the social assistance budget has been carefully designed by the government. "The use of the social assistance budget, especially the social assistance budget, according to the Court, does not have any anomalies or violations of regulations as alleged by the applicants (Anies-Cak Imin), because the implementation of the budget has been clearly regulated from planning, budgeting, implementation, and accountability," said Arsul Sani during the hearing of the 2024 Presidential Election dispute at the Constitutional Court Building, Monday, April 22, 2024.

"Including the implementation of social assistance budget that is distributed at once (retroactive) and those directly distributed by the President and Ministers are part of the budget cycle that has regulated the use and implementation," he said. Asrul said that based on the legal instruments in the Constitutional Court, especially the law on Constitutional Court proceedings, the Constitutional Court does not have the space to investigate the intention behind the making of a public policy. He said that the Constitutional Court refers to the legislation in examining the use of social assistance budget."

"Therefore, in relation to the use of the budget/APBN realization related to social assistance or others, it is important for the Court to emphasize that the APBN is determined by law every fiscal year, in this case, the APBN 2024 is determined by Law No. 19/2023 regarding the APBN for the fiscal year 2024," he said. Furthermore, Asrul stated that the Court assessed the evidence related to the argument regarding the influence of social assistance, which includes survey results and expert testimony, but they were unable to demonstrate any coercive influence of social assistance on voters in the Presidential Election."
