As reported by Greek Reporter, the Ziggurat Pyramid was announced in 2008, and its construction began in 2021. It is estimated to be completed by 2028. This structure will surpass the Great Pyramid of Giza in size and beauty.

The design, inspired by the timeless aesthetics of ancient Egyptian and Mayan pyramids, is enlarged to an unprecedented scale. Soaring to a height of 1,200 meters and spanning over 2.3 square kilometers, the Ziggurat is designed to accommodate one million people.

Ziggurat comes from the name of the ancestral temple tower in the Mesopotamian valley, a multi-tiered pyramid-like structure. According to the International Institute for Urban Environment, the technology incorporated into the Ziggurat project will make it a viable metropolis. Timelinks, a consortium of urban planners, scientists, and architects based in Dubai, has patented the design and technology used in this project.

"All things inside the pyramid, from lighting to equipment, will be powered by renewable energy sources, including solar panels and wind turbines. 'The Ziggurat Pyramid community is almost entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy. Besides using steam power inside the building, we will also utilize wind turbine technology to harness natural energy resources,' said Ridas Matonis, Managing Director of Timelinks."

Those who live here will enjoy the internal public transportation system of the pyramid, which will traverse not only horizontally but also vertically throughout the building.

This revolutionary system aims to eliminate the need for cars inside the pyramid, thus reducing traffic congestion and pollution, and further contributing to the environmentally friendly ethos of the structure.

Consisting of over 300 floors, the Ziggurat Pyramid is envisioned as a self-sufficient vertical city. It comprises of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. From lush green gardens to bustling markets and tranquil residential areas, every aspect of urban life is carefully considered within this megastructure. "The entire city can be accommodated within a complex that occupies less than 10 percent of the original land surface, and public and private landscapes will be used for recreation or irrigated as agricultural land," said Matonis.

The building also includes face recognition technology as a form of security.
