Following this incident, many speculations arose that the fire occurred due to Rico's recent coverage on gambling activities in his area."

According to the Mistar website, this family was buried on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Public Cemetery of Salit Village, Tigapanah District, Karo Regency, with a Christian religious liturgy event. "The four bodies were buried side by side," said a local resident named Ginting.

Rico's wife, Elfrida, is said to be heavily pregnant. Many people feel sad about the tragic event they experienced. The house made of wooden planks measuring 2.5 x 4 meters, which also serves as a grocery store, is now reduced to rubble. Residents are requesting for the truth of this case to be revealed.

According to Jambione, before his death, during the last week, Rico was actively investigating gambling and drug cases in Karo. Specifically on Bom Ginting Street, which allegedly involves certain authorities. Through his personal Facebook account, Rico was also actively writing and revealing his findings.
