"Dream - Harvey Moeis, husband of Sandra Dewi, has become a suspect in a corruption case related to the trading of tin commodities in the mining business permit (IUP) of PT Timah Tbk. Harvey was immediately detained by the Attorney General's Office on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. "The Investigating Team has elevated the status of one witness to a suspect, namely HM as the Representative of PT RBT," said Ketut Sumedana, Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office."

According to Ketut, around the year 2018 to 2019, Harvey Moeis contacted the suspect MRPT alias RZ, the President Director of PT Timah Tbk, with the intention of accommodating illegal tin mining in the IUP area of PT Timah Tbk; Furthermore, a meeting took place between Harvey Moeis and MRPT alias RZ. After several meetings, an agreement was reached for the rental of tin smelting processing equipment in the IUP area of PT Timah Tbk.

"Where the suspect HM conditioned the smelters of PT SIP, CV VIP, PT SBS, and PT TIN to participate in the activity," added Ketut.

Harvey Moeis also instructed the owners of the smelters to generate profits for himself and other suspects who had been previously detained under the pretext of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds through PT QSE facilitated by Helena Lim, the crazy rich PIK who has been detained. The charges against Harvey Moeis are Article 2 Paragraph (1) and Article 3 jo. Article 18 of the Indonesian Law Number 31 Year 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 Year 2001 jo. Indonesian Law Number 31 Year 1999 on Amendments to Indonesian Law Number 31 Year 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes jo. Article 55 Paragraph (1) ke-1 KUHP.

"Furthermore, the suspect HM will be detained at the Salemba Branch of the South Jakarta State Prosecutor's Office Detention Center for the next 20 days, starting from March 27, 2024, until April 15, 2024," said Ketut. Until now, the Investigative Team has examined more than 148 witnesses in the case. Prior to Harvey Moeis, the Investigative Team designated Helena Lim as the 15th suspect in this case, who is the Manager of PT QSE. Therefore, there are already 16 suspects in the case as of now."

Situation

The corruption allegation case began when in 2018, the suspect ALW as the Director of Operations of PT Timah Tbk for the period of 2017-2018, together with the suspect MRPT as the President Director of PT Timah Tbk and the suspect EE as the Finance Director of PT Timah Tbk, realized that the tin ore supply produced was less compared to other private smelter companies due to the rampant illegal mining activities carried out within the IUP area of PT Timah Tbk.

The condition caused the suspect ALW, along with the suspects MRPT and EE, who were supposed to take action against the competitor, instead offered the smelter owner to collaborate by purchasing illegal mining results at a price higher than the standard set by PT Timah Tbk without conducting prior studies. To facilitate the accommodation of the illegal mining, the suspect ALW, along with the suspects MRPT and EE, agreed to make an agreement as if there was a rental collaboration for tin melting processing equipment with the smelters.

The article suspected of the suspect is Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 jo. Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 Year 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 Year 2001 jo. Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 Year 1999 concerning Amendments to Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 Year 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) ke-1 of the Indonesian Criminal Code.

1. SG alias AW as a mining entrepreneur in Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. 2. MBG as a mining entrepreneur in Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. 3. HT alias ASN as the President Director of CV VIP (a company owned by the suspect TN alias AN). 4. MRPT alias RZ as the President Director of PT Timah Tbk from 2016-2021. 5. EE alias EML as the Finance Director of PT Timah Tbk from 2017-2018. 6. BY as the Former Commissioner of CV VIP.
