Dream - Not many people know that beneath the surface of Saudi Arabia's ground, there are many hidden historical relics. Even dating back thousands of years ago.
Recently, Saudi Arabian and foreign archaeologists uncovered the secret of ancient traces that span over 1,600 kilometers. Known as the Zubaida Route, the road is an ancient trade route that starts from Kufah in Iraq to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The road, also known as the Kufi Route, was once a trading route for tribes during the pre-Islamic era before being used by pilgrims after the Islamic period.
Along the Zubaida Route, there are 27 posts that are currently being researched by archaeologists. Some of the posts along the Zubaida Route cross several provinces in Saudi Arabia such as the Northern Border, Hail, Qassim, Madinah, and Makkah.
The following is the translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The Zubaida Route became one of the most important pilgrimage and commercial routes during the Abbasid Era between 750 and 1258. At that time, this route served as a link between Baghdad, the Two Holy Mosques, and other Arab regions. The trade route was named after Zubaida Binti Jaafar, the wife of Abbasid Caliph Harun Al Rashid, who contributed to its construction."
This path has 27 posts, each of which is 50 kilometers apart. In addition, there are several secondary posts that serve as rest areas. As time goes by, houses and other facilities are built along the footpath.
"As a marker on the way, several ponds are also built in some posts to ensure that Hajj pilgrims get sufficient water supply throughout their journey."
Some of the most important wells and pools along this route include Al-Dhafiri, Al-Amya, Al-Thulaimiya, Al-Jumaimiyah, Zabala, Umm Al-Asafir, Hamad, and Al-Ashar.
"Now the Saudi Ministry of Tourism is collaborating with archaeologists from Hail University and foreign experts to begin exploring and excavating positions in Fayd and Al-Bayyaith. "Many ancient cities and Islamic archaeological sites on the Zubaida Route in Hail have not been explored and excavated. There is a wealth of information and archaeological remains hidden beneath the area," said Al-Ibrahim."
"Meanwhile, archaeologists have successfully uncovered various archaeological sites, including heritage cities, from the past. In addition, there are also 10,000-year-old stone carvings, ancient burials, wells, stone statues, pottery, glass, minerals, and currency."
"Hail has important archaeological sites that originate from various historical periods, including the pre-Islamic era, with the discovery of ancient tools, building structures, and carvings from the Thamud civilization. 'I am not exaggerating when I say that Hail's archaeology is more unique and different than what is found in other areas of the kingdom, especially stone carvings, which are abundant in Hail. It is similar to a museum that provides you with insights into ancient history,' added Al-Ibrahim."
The Department of Archaeology at Hail University has conducted excavations on stone carvings in the area and discovered artifacts dating back to the Bronze Age. This discovery is believed to be the first of its kind found in the Arabian Peninsula.
