Scientists recently discovered a new creature called a "monster" in the sea, hidden at depths between 215 feet (66m) and 3,840 feet (1,170m) in the region around Antarctica.
This creature has 20 wavy arms and is covered in fur. At the bottom, there are tentacles with small claws at the end, to help this creature grip the seabed. This discovery is named "Antarctic strawberry feather star".
"Greg Rouse, a marine biology professor at the University of California, San Diego, stated that the name refers to the body shape of the creature. Its body shape is similar to a summer fruit."
"We have taken many features so that you can see the parts that are attached to it, and that is what looks like strawberries,"

Rouse also noted that the longer and hairy parts of the "Antarctic furry star strawberry" tend to spread and provide assistance for deep-sea creatures to move.
The newly discovered species is officially named Promachocrinus fragarius.
This creature belongs to the Crinoidea family, which includes starfish, sea lilies, and sea cucumbers.
According to Greg Rouse and his research team, Emily McLaughlin and Nerid Wilson, it is known that the name "fragarius" comes from the Latin word "fragum," which means strawberry. This finding has been published in the Invertebrate Systematics journal last month.
"In the beginning, there was only one species in the category of Antarctic feather stars, namely Promachocrinus kerguelensis. However, now, Greg Rouse and his team have identified four additional species, including one named "strawberry". Their new discoveries can reach a length of up to eight inches (20 cm) and stand out due to their remarkable number of arms."
