Dream - Prophet Muhammad saw advised the Muslim community to seek the night of Lailatul Qadar in the last ten nights or the last seven nights. Lailatul Qadar itself is a very noble night in the month of Ramadan. The arrival of this night is eagerly awaited by every Muslim around the world. The night of Lailatul Qadar has its own special privileges that can be achieved by Muslims through various recommended deeds. For example, by performing the voluntary prayer of Lailatul Qadar and by performing i'tikaf in the mosque.

"Whoever wants to obtain Lailatul Qadar, then seek it in the last seven nights." (HR. Bukhari No. 1911, 6590, Muslim No.1165 Ibnu Hibban No. 3675, Al Baihaqi in As Sunan Al Kubra No. 8327, Ibnu Khuzaimah No. 2182, Malik in Al Muwaththa' No. 697) To obtain the night of Lailatul Qadar, the Prophet Muhammad has provided his guidance. Here is his guidance as summarized by Dream through various sources.

In this case there are two meanings as explained by the authentic Ibn Khuzaimah. First, on the seventh night because the Prophet, when he knew there was a match with the companions' dreams that Lailatul Qadar occurred on the last seven nights of that year, he commanded them that year to search for it on the last seven nights. Second, the Prophet's command to the companions to search for it on the last seven nights is related if they are weak and unable to search for it throughout the ten days.

The meaning is supported by a hadith that shows the reason why the Prophet Muhammad commanded to seek the last seven days. The Prophet said: "Seek it in the last ten nights (referring to Laylat al-Qadr) if you feel weak or unable, then do not let yourself be defeated by the remaining seven days." (HR. Muslim No. 1165, 209) Some also say that Laylat al-Qadr comes on odd nights as he said.

"Truly, I was shown Lailatul Qadar, and I have forgotten it, and it is on the last ten nights, on the odd night." (HR. Bukhari No. 638, 1912, 1923) Then, in another narration it is also explained: "From 'Aishah radhiallahu 'anha, that the Prophet said: 'Seek Lailatul Qadar on the odd night of the last ten nights of Ramadan.'" Through the above hadiths, there are several lessons that we can learn. First, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not know for certain when the arrival of Lailatul Qadar would be clear. And second, the arrival of Lailatul Qadar is on the odd nights of the last ten nights.

"Search on the 24th night." (Narrated by Sahih Bukhari No. 1918) Then, Imam Bukhari narrated from 'Ubadah bin Ash Shamit ra that the Prophet Muhammad said: "So search for Lailatul Qadar on the ninth, seventh, and fifth nights (of the last ten nights)." (Narrated by Bukhari No. 49, 1919) Ubay bin Ka'ab ra said: "By Allah, I truly know which night it is. It is the night when the Prophet Muhammad commanded us to pray at night, which is the very bright night on the 27th night, its signs lasting until the rising of the sun, and in the morning it is bright white, without any heat." (Narrated by Muslim No. 762)

Besides that, from another companion. Salim narrated from his father and said: "A man saw Lailatul Qadr on the 27th night. So the Prophet peace be upon him said: I saw your dreams on the last ten nights, so seek it on the odd nights." (HR. Muslim No. 1165) Through several hadiths, all of them are used as a basis for scholars who decide that it is most likely that Lailatul Qadr occurs on the 27th night.
