Dream - Collecting as much wealth as possible is an important part of human life that cannot be denied. Everyone competes to have material possessions, whether it be a house, a vehicle, jewelry, and so on. Islam does teach its followers to work and seek halal sustenance to fulfill their living needs. However, this command does not mean that one should neglect their afterlife affairs. It becomes very dangerous if human beings end up loving the world or hubb ad-dunya instead.

It should be known that the world and everything in it is a means to reach the afterlife. None of it is eternal. Everything that we pursue and boast about in this world, will only remain in this world. Unless the wealth is used for goodness, then it will have an impact in the hereafter."

Actually there is nothing wrong if we collect wealth. Especially if the wealth is used for good deeds. For example, for charity. However, it will be very dangerous if the wealth is obtained through wrong means. For example, stealing, cheating, and corruption. The way itself is already forbidden, as well as the result which also becomes forbidden.

"Stingy or miserly is one of the diseases of the heart that does not want their wealth to decrease. In fact, they feel reluctant to use their wealth for zakat or charity. It is important to remember that all the wealth we have belongs to Allah SWT. Everything is only entrusted and can be taken away by Allah SWT at any time. Therefore, it is only right that the wealth is used as best as possible according to the path taught in Islam."

People who love the world usually have a greedy nature. They feel unsatisfied with what they have. Therefore, they always feel lacking. In fact, they also hope for a portion of others.

Kufur is the characteristic of being ungrateful for the blessings bestowed by Allah SWT. However, no matter how little wealth we possess, it should be appreciated. Only then will that wealth become a blessing. When one is grateful even for a small amount of wealth, they will become even more grateful when bestowed with greater blessings.

Even the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, if in the sight of Allah SWT the world is equal to the wing of a mosquito, then a person who is covered in faith and a disbeliever will not get a single sip of water from it. The more we chase after the world, the more unsatisfied we will become. Because fundamentally, human nature is always feeling lacking. As the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "If a person were to have one valley of wealth, he would surely aspire to have a second valley. And if he were to have two valleys of wealth, he would surely aspire to have a third valley."

"then indeed he will strive to have a third one. And nothing fills the stomach of a human being except the earth (death)." (HR. Ahmad and At-Thabrani) Scholars explain that the purpose of Allah SWT making wealth as a trial and temptation for humans is to know who is obedient and who is disbelieving by following their desires. In this regard, Allah SWT will grant rewards and the pleasures of paradise in the hereafter to His servants who are saved from the trials of this world."

Meanwhile, those who prefer the world, then Allah SWT will give them the punishment of hell as explained in Surah Hud verses 15-16: "Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments, We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do." (QS Hud: 15-16)

Besides, people who prioritize the world over the hereafter will also have their hearts blinded. Every human being must be aware that eternal life is when they are in the hereafter.
