"Story of a High-Spirited Man Who Confided in Prophet Muhammad"

KH. Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim or commonly known as Gus Baha once told a story about a man with high desires who wanted to convert to Islam and confided in Prophet Muhammad saw.

The man approached the Prophet Muhammad (saw) and asked for permission to commit adultery. He believed that if adultery was prohibited, he would have difficulty practicing Islam. The man went directly to the Prophet Muhammad (saw) in the mosque. His arrival disrupted the atmosphere of the mosque. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) asked, "Why is there a commotion?" "There is a young man who wants to convert to Islam but he still wants permission to commit adultery," answered the Prophet's companion.

Rasulullah saw then asked again: \

He saw then asked: "Is it true that you are a young man who wants to convert to Islam but asks for permission to commit adultery?" "Yes, Prophet." the man answered. "No, Prophet, if there is someone who dares to do that to my mother, I will hit him." the man answered.

The Prophet saw asked again, "Do you like having a daughter who becomes a plaything for hypocrites?" He continued to ask, "Do you like it if that happens to your sister?" Hearing every question from the Prophet saw that was related to his loved ones, the man with high desires said, "By Allah, I have never seen something as bad as adultery. By Allah, I will not commit adultery again."
