"Dream - United Nations Director for Human Rights (HR) Craig Mokhiber resigned from his position effective from October 29, 2023. The decision to resign by Craig Mokhiber was motivated by allegations that the UN was considered to have failed to stop Israel's attacks using genocide in Gaza."

According to Mokhiber, this is not the first time the UN has failed to prevent genocide. The organization, which oversees many countries in the world, has previously failed to prevent genocide against the Tutsi group in Rwanda, Muslims in Bosnia, Yazidis in Iraqi Kurdistan, and Rohingyas in Myanmar.

Mokhiber also accused the United States, Britain, and most European countries of not only refusing to fulfill their obligations under the Geneva Convention. These major countries have also armed Israel's attacks and provided political and diplomatic protection for the conflict.
According to the official UN website, Craig Mokhiber last served as Director and ASG Deputy for Human Rights, OHCHR, New York.
Craig Mokhiber is the Director at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in New York, United States (US). Mokhiber has been serving the UN since 1992, as a lawyer and specialist in international human rights law, policy, and methodology.
As the chairperson of the Human Rights and Development Team in the 1990s, he led the development of OHCHR's original work on a human rights-based approach to development and a definition of poverty that is sensitive to human rights.
Craig Mokhiber also served as the Senior Advisor on Human Rights of the United Nations in Palestine and Afghanistan. He led a team of human rights specialists who were part of the High-Level Mission for Darfur, headed the Rule of Law and Democracy Unit, and served as the Chief of the Economic and Social Affairs Section, as well as the Chief of the Development and Economic and Social Affairs Branch at the OHCHR Headquarters.
