Dream - Cutting nails is one of the sunnahs in Islam. As the Prophet Muhammad said: "Among the natural sunnahs are shaving pubic hair, cutting nails, and shaving mustache." (HR. Bukhari) However, many Muslims wonder what if cutting nails is done while fasting? Will it invalidate the fast? Especially in this month of Ramadan, which lasts for a full month. Therefore, it is important for Dream's friends to know about the ruling on cutting nails during Ramadan fasting.

Cutting nails aims to remove dirt that is present on the nails of both hands and feet. Therefore, nothing obstructs water when Sahabat Dream is performing ablution. Nails on hands and feet become a place for many hidden germs. If Sahabat Dream does not regularly clean them, these germs will accumulate and can cause health problems. In addition, Islam itself greatly values cleanliness, including personal hygiene, which must always be maintained as a form of gratitude for all the blessings that Allah SWT has given to us.

The scholars are of the opinion that cutting nails during fasting does not invalidate the fast. Because cutting nails is not the same as consuming food. In addition, the Prophet Muhammad once said: "We are given a period of time to trim mustache, armpit hair, cut nails, and shave pubic hair, which is no more than forty days." (Narrated by Muslim)

Some scholars have different views about the auspicious day for cutting nails. There are salaf imams who say that the best day is Friday. As stated by Imam an-Nawawi in his book Majmu Syarh al Muhadzdzab, Friday is considered a festive day for the Muslim community and Sayyidul Ayam (the leader of days). Then, according to the Shafi'i school of thought, Thursday and Monday are considered good days for cutting nails.

However, the Prophet Muhammad always taught to start everything from the right side first, then the left.
