Nikah syighar is a marriage where a father marries off his daughter to a man on the condition that the man is willing to marry his daughter to him (the father).
Nikah syighar is a marriage that makes a woman a substitute for dowry.
In Islam, syighar marriage is strongly prohibited because it contradicts Islamic law.
"Hadith Prohibition of Syighar Marriage"
"From Nafi' from Ibn Umar, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) prohibited the practice of nikah syighar. Nikah syighar is when a man marries off his daughter to someone with the condition that he will be married to the daughter of that person in return, and both marriages are conducted without any dowry." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
"Syighar Marriage Law"
According to Imam Asy-Syafi'i, the marriage of syighar is not valid, just like temporary marriage or contract marriage. Meanwhile, Imam Abu Hanifah allows syighar marriage on the condition that a dowry is paid.
"Opposed by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH"
Abu Hanifah's opinion was strongly opposed by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Imran bin Husain heard the Prophet Muhammad SAW saying, "There is no jalab, janab, and syighar in Islam." (HR. An-Nasa'i)

If someone knows the prohibition of syighar marriage but still carries it out, then the full punishment of hadd applies. Children born from syighar marriage are not handed over to them. If they are not aware of the prohibition, then there is no punishment of hadd.
