Dream - Surat At Thariq is one of the letters that was revealed in the city of Mecca and is ranked 86th in the Quran.

The letter consisting of 17 verses contains extraordinary virtues. Its deep meaning is important to be understood by every Muslim. This letter affirms that there is no power that can help except Allah SWT.

The letter is called At Thariq because it is taken from the first verse of this letter which means 'that comes at night'.

Surat At Thariq is located after Surat Al Buruj. In the last verse of Surat Al Buruj and the first verse of Surat At Thariq, they have the same meaning, which is the stars in the sky.

The Cause of Revelation of Surah At-Tariq

It should be noted that Surat At Thariq was revealed as a satire towards Abil Asyad due to his arrogance. In a hadith narrated by Ibn Abi Hatim, it means: Abil Asyad said, "O people of Quraysh, whoever can remove me from this skin, I will reward him." Then he also said, "Muhammad believes that the guardians of Hell are nineteen. I myself am capable of representing you in defeating the ten, and the remaining nine I leave to you."

Seeing the arrogance and actions of Abil Asyad, Allah said by revealing Surah At Thariq which contains the power of Allah and His creation that shows the creation of humans and stars in the sky.

The main content of Surah At-Tariq.

Explaining that every soul is under the care and supervision of Allah SWT. Reflection on the creation of humans, namely from semen that eliminates arrogance. The power of Allah to resurrect humans on the Day of Judgment. There is no power that can help or intercede except Allah SWT on the Day of Resurrection. Affirming that the Quran is the explanation between what is true and what is false.

"The Speciality of Reading Surah At-Thariq"

To get rewards and goodness as many as stars in the sky. Protected from enemies who intend to harm. Avoiding arrogance. As a practice to prevent bad dreams. Practice to drive away thieves who will enter the house. A remedy to cure a disease.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"Whoever reads this letter (At Thariq), then Allah will record for him ten good deeds equal to the number of all the stars in the sky. Whoever writes it and washes it with water, and applies it to a wound, then the wound will heal. If it is recited over something, then it will protect and the owner will be safe from it." (Tafsirul Burhan, volume 8: 256)
