Dream - Changi Airport reopens Terminal 2 (T2), Wednesday, November 1, 2023, one day earlier than the original schedule. This reopening is to restore the operation of the existing four terminals. The reopening of T2 is also to welcome Indonesian tourists who choose Singapore as their year-end holiday destination. Not just an ordinary airport terminal, T2 brings a new experience and state-of-the-art facilities through The Wonderfall and Dreamscape, which integrate a modern terminal atmosphere, inspired by nature, with immersive digital experiences and innovative technology.

The T2 expansion project is able to increase Changi Airport's total capacity by 5 mppa (million passengers per annum) to 90 mppa. The timely completion of T2 is needed to meet the capacity, as an effort to anticipate the full recovery of pre-COVID tourists in 2024. In September 2023, the number of passengers from Indonesia to Singapore and vice versa has recovered to 84% of pre-COVID levels. Meanwhile, in 2022, that number has recovered 40% from pre-COVID levels.

To increase the capacity of tourists to Singapore, Changi has connected with 10 cities in Indonesia through eight airlines, such as Batik Air, Citilink, and Garuda Indonesia. Additionally, there are international airlines, including Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar Asia Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Scoot, and Singapore Airlines, which serve 424 weekly flights between Singapore and Indonesia. The same goes for Jakarta, which is the second busiest flight route in Southeast Asia and the eighth busiest in the world, with eight airlines serving 189 weekly flights between Singapore and Jakarta.

Tan Lye Teck, Programme Director Terminal 2 Expansion Project Changi Airport Group, said that Changi Airport always provides the best innovation and service, as well as being at the forefront of retail and culinary trends innovation.

"Inspirasi alam" translates to "Inspiration from nature" in English.

"By expanding T2, we aim to enhance the traveler's experience by integrating a modern terminal ambiance inspired by nature, with immersive digital experiences, innovative technology, as well as transformative retail and culinary concepts that create a special sense of place," explained Tan Lye Teck.

Adopting the philosophy of natural grandeur, you can experience T2 starting from the design of the natural ceiling to the design of the walls, carpet patterns, horticultural displays, beautifully combined natural elements throughout T2.

Not only that, the natural green color adorned with various plants in T2 also creates a peaceful and soothing atmosphere, fostering a sense of calm and relaxation for tourists and visitors. In the departure hall of T2, there is now The Wonderfall, a 14-meter high digital canvas located in the middle of a vertical garden, showcasing the beauty of nature with magnificent waterfalls flowing over megalithic stones.

Meanwhile, in the transit area, there is a new Dreamscape garden, which is mesmerizing with a series of charming plants in the midst of a carefully arranged background, thus displaying the grandeur of the 'digital sky' that can change colors at certain times.

With Dreamscape, it is hoped that passengers can have a more enjoyable transit time while waiting for their next flight schedule. The transit area also offers a TV Lounge, where travelers can enjoy the latest sports events and TV programs on a large LED screen. For children, 2 Bears Hideout offers an exciting and adventurous play experience.

Regarding the issue of an empty stomach, don't worry. Because you can fill your stomach at The Gourmet Garden, which is a unique dining area with an amazing apron view and beautiful hanging foliage on the ceiling.

The taste is represented by the presence of Satay Club by Harry's, which is famous for its signature satay, also offers local fusion cocktail creations such as Chendol Colada, TSK "Kopi" Ice, and the famous Harry's Singapore Sling. There is also Chicken Rice Wee Nam Kee, a place where visitors can enjoy Singapore's iconic chicken rice. Apart from providing maximum entertainment facilities, Changi Airport has enhanced the travel experience of tourists at T2 with a series of innovations that include Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST) for common use, automated check-in kiosks, and baggage delivery machines. With the Automated Clearance Initiative, passengers with eligible biometric passports can utilize the automated immigration lanes upon arrival at Changi Airport.

As a note, T2 is the first terminal in Changi to introduce automated Special Assistance Lanes at arrival and departure immigration for people with disabilities and children. In addition, the early baggage storage system has been fully automated with the ability to store up to 2,400 bags simultaneously.
