Dream - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy\/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf\/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno plans to hold a world-class event in Indonesia in 2024, which can be held in five Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSPS) through the Indonesia Tourism Fund. Based on information from the Kemenparekraf website, the five DPSPS are Borobudur, Likupang, Mandalika, Lake Toba, and Labuan Bajo.
Success in MotoGP
The decision to hold the international event reflects the success of the MotoGP international racing event in Mandalika, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This event can provide an additional value of Rp4.5 trillion in 2022 for the Indonesian economy.
Not only economic value, NTB province until October 2023 is recorded as the region with the highest domestic tourist movement.
"This is what gives us more motivation to organize the event in 2024 with the support of Indonesia Tourism Fund,"
Sandiaga's words in "National Coordination Meeting for Accelerating the Development of 5 Super Priority Destinations in the Second Semester of 2023" at Golo Mori Convention Center, Labuan Bajo, were quoted on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Projected funds to be distributed through the Indonesia Tourism Fund to support tourism and creative economy can reach Rp2 trillion every year. The use of these funds will be coordinated with the Ministry of Finance.
Sandiaga also stated, Acting Menko Marves Erick Tohir provided directions to improve connectivity with a focus on 13 airports that will become hubs for increasing the number of tourists.

Sandiaga noted that there is a budget increase of Rp1.2 trillion to complete the development in 5 DPSPs before the end of President Joko Widodo's administration in 2024.
"The hope is that tourism and creative economy can become the locomotive and replace the extractive economy. The target is to achieve above 10-12 percent by 2030-2045 in line with the transformational changes from Indonesia's economy towards a green economy."
