Mango is one of the most popular tropical fruits in Indonesia. This fruit is not only easily found in various regions, but it also often grows in people's yards. Mango trees are known to provide shade and are capable of producing abundant fruit, making them a favorite choice for many people to plant. Some of the most sought-after mango varieties for their sweetness are harum manis, manalagi, and Indramayu mangoes. Unfortunately, mangoes sold in the market often taste bland because they are harvested before they are fully ripe. However, did you know that there is a simple way to enhance the sweetness of mangoes? An Instagram user with the account @adaah_earth has shared this trick using a simple kitchen ingredient, which is salt. Salt can function as a natural flavor enhancer that makes mangoes taste sweeter and reduces their acidity. With easy steps, you can enjoy sweeter and fresher mangoes. Here are the steps as quoted from the briliofood.net website, Monday (22/07/2024).

"Prepare Container and Soak"

Prepare a large container filled with water to soak the mango. Soak the mango for 15-30 minutes to remove pesticides and insecticides.

"Drain and Clean"

Lift and drain the mango. Gently rub the surface of the mango with the palm of your hand to remove any remaining dirt. Rinse under running water.
