This case began with Budi Said buying gold from EA, AP, EKA, and MD as employees of PT Antam from March to November 2018. Kuntadi said that Budi had conspired with the modus operandi of engineering transactions by setting the selling price below the price determined by PT Antam. Budi's excuse was that he received a discount from PT Antam.

"Meanwhile, at that time PT Antam did not do that (discount). In order to cover up the transaction, the perpetrator used a transaction pattern outside the mechanism established by PT Antam," he added. Kuntandi revealed that as a result of the evil conspiracy committed by Budi Said together with the employees of PT Antam who are still witnesses, it has caused the transaction condition of PT Antam to become uncontrollable."As a result, PT Antam suffered losses of 1,136 tons of precious metals or possibly equivalent to around Rp1.1 trillion," he said."

Although still as a witness, the Attorney General's Office admitted to having strong suspicions that PT Antam employees had manipulated by creating fake letters that seemingly justified the existence of payments from Budi Said to PT Antam. Based on the fake letter, PT Antam seemed to still have an obligation to deliver precious metals to the suspect. In fact, based on the letter, the suspect filed a civil lawsuit.

A few time ago the Supreme Court won the lawsuit of Budi Said, so PT Antam must pay 1.1 tons of gold or equivalent to Rp1.1 trillion. The Attorney General's Office stated that it is not affected by the civil lawsuit won by Budi Said against PT Antam regarding the transaction of buying and selling precious metals or gold.
