Dream - The government of Joko Widodo has prepared a budget for the free lunch program advocated by the Candidate Pair (Paslon) number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Minister of Economic Affairs Coordinating, Airlangga Hartarto, revealed that the budget for the free lunch program prepared in the 2025 State Budget is Rp 15,000 per child. The budget amount will be distributed evenly throughout Indonesia.
"Per child is approximately Rp15,000," said Airlangga Hartarto to the media at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Central Jakarta, on Monday, February 26, 2024, as quoted from Liputan6.com."
"Outside Free Milk"
Airlangga, who also serves as the Chairman of the TKN Prabowo-Gibran Steering Team, said that the budget is separate from the free milk program which is also supported by the 02 Prabowo-Gibran Presidential Candidate. "Outside of milk," Airlangga emphasized.
"Although it has been budgeted at Rp15,000 per child, Airlangga has not revealed the area that will implement the free lunch and milk program for the children. The same goes for the menu that will be provided to each party in the area."
"Will Be Discussed Further"
The Chairman of the Golkar Party revealed that the government in the related technical ministries will later conduct a more detailed discussion regarding the budget preparation for the free lunch program included in the State Budget (RAPBN) 2025. "There will be detailed discussions," he said.
"Previously, Airlangga stated that the free lunch and milk program will be included in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) for the Fiscal Year 2025. 'Included in (RAPBN 2025),' Airlangga said to the media, as quoted from Merdeka.com."
"Gradual distribution"
The budget allocated for the lunch program and the provision of free milk amounts to Rp400 trillion. However, the budget distribution will be carried out gradually. He mentioned that the lunch and free milk program will be further discussed in the 2025 Macro Economic Policy and Fiscal Policy Framework (KEM-PPKF).
Airlangga requested the public to be patient and await the results of the discussion on Monday next week.
